Muhammad Uchida Sudirman, who is usually called Uchida, won the gold and bronze medals in the prestigious XX 2021 National Sports Week (PON) in Papua.

Uchida won these two medals in the sport of Muay Thai

It should be noted that Muay Thai has never been competed in a PON before. And Uchida is one of the contributors to the first year's gold medal for the Muay Thai sport at PON XX Papua 2021

In his meeting with the UPNVJ Public Relations team, he explained that the ability he has now is an ability that was passed down from his father. He said that since he was 6 years old he was introduced to and involved in several sports before he studied the sport that currently makes his name famous.

Uchida also explained that the process he went through in participating in this event was not easy coupled with the current conditions where the covid-19 pandemic has not yet ended, "The process is not easy, because there is a postponement due to the covid - 19 pandemic so we have to adapt a lot, indeed preparation we became longer but the limited places for closed practice and the difficulty of having a face-to-face meeting with the coach also requires a lot of adaptation, "said Uchida

The results he achieved were not without a little struggle and without sacrifice. He said that he had made many sacrifices and a pile of struggles to succeed with what he is currently achieving

Uchida admits that he lost his youth to just hang out with his peers at this time and spend his time just studying and practicing, even though someone has to be sacrificed but Uchida is not discouraged, his sacrifice and struggle have paid off with 2 medals of national pride in his hands at this time

"My main priority in life is that I just want to be proud and want to elevate my parents and thank God, with God's permission, there are lots of bonuses, I can make my alma mater proud, the area and most importantly I can be the pride of the nation," he said with emotion.
