HumasUPNVJ - The German Center is again holding an interesting event on Friday, 25 March 2022 in the Hall of the Faculty of Economics and Business. This well-organized activity was the result of a collaboration between the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and the Office of International Affairs (KUI) in the Jakarta Veterans Development University area and GIZ ( Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit ) in order to celebrate UPN Days.

The event, which was packaged in the form of a festival, presented several series of events ranging from film screenings, photo exhibitions, and the climax was filled with talk shows with the theme of German and Indonesian culture and environment. More specifically, the speakers who attended focused on discussing the Indonesian-German exploration in the academic and entrepreneurial aspects.

Dr. Bambang Susanto, MA as the Head of KUI and also the Director of the German Center UPN Veterans Jakarta in the midst of his remarks hoped for continued support from Ambassador Ina Lepel, GIZ, DAAD (Academic exchange service to Germany), SES (a German institution that sends experts throughout world), Goethe Institute and German Foundations and Institutions, Indonesian Diaspora and German Alumni. This is intended so that the implementation of German Center activities at UPN Veteran Jakarta can continue to be carried out both online and offline.

Bambang reported that the next plan that the German Center will carry out besides routine activities is to prepare a book and hold a special meeting on sustainability, environment and climate change which will be held prior to the implementation of the G-20 in Bali. If possible the UPNVJ Germany Center can make visits to Germany in order to have, understand, expand and develop networks with various institutions in Germany itself.

The German Ambassador to Indonesia, Ina Lepel, welcomed the festival and exhibition with enthusiasm. Ina, who was present online, expressed her appreciation for the UPN Veteran Jakarta German Center which continues to organize activities to strengthen relations between Indonesia and Germany, especially in the fields of academia, culture and the environment.

Ina stated that she wanted to know and understand Indonesia further through the activities initiated by the German Center UPN Veteran Jakarta. Representing Germany, Ina also expressed openness in terms of cooperation between UPN Veteran Jakarta and universities in Germany in the academic field, or cooperation in other fields.

In addition to presenting the Director of the German Center for UPN Veterans Jakarta and the German Ambassador, there were several parties participating in this German Festival including university leaders, lecturers, UPN Veterans Jakarta students and other universities, the Indonesian diaspora in Germany, German alumni, GIZ, DAAD, and SES from other countries.
