UPNVJ Student Affairs – The Jakarta Veterans National Development University (UPNVJ) has finished holding the University-level Election of Outstanding Students (Pilmapres). The two Outstanding Students (Mawapres) are Royal Eden More Silaban from the Faculty of Medicine for the bachelor program and Mutiara Mujahidah from the Faculty of Health Sciences for the diploma program. Both of them will represent UPNVJ to compete in the national level Election of Outstanding Students competition organized by the National Achievement Center of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology which will take place from June to September 2022.
“UPNVJ outstanding students will be sent to take part in the national level Election of Outstanding Students. We hope that this activity can trigger other students to study and continue to excel,” said Ria Maria Theresa, Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation during the appointment of the UPNVJ Mawapres at the Mercure Serpong Hotel, Wednesday (23/06/22).
The implementation of the Election of Outstanding Students at the university level has started since March 2022 by conducting socialization to 7 faculties at UPNVJ. Each faculty sent its best representatives to be selected by a team of assessors specially formed by the university by assessing a portfolio of outstanding achievements, scientific work on creative ideas (bachelor program) and innovative products (diploma program), and English language skills.
The Sub-Coordinator for Student Affairs of the AKPK Bureau Deny Wijaya S.Kom., M.M., explained that the assessment process has been carried out by the assessor team since Friday (17/06/22) with indicators that adjust to the selection of the National Election of Outstanding Students.
"The biggest value in this assessment is in the portfolio of achievements which are divided into seven areas," said Deny.
Excellent achievements are privileges that are recognized and obtained while being a student in intra-curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities which are grouped into seven fields, namely: competition, recognition, awards, organizational career, work, empowerment or human action, and entrepreneurship.
Ria added that superior achievements are an important assessment in the Election of Outstanding Students stages. Each participant can only attach a maximum of 10 achievements by selecting 4 fields. So the distribution of achievements is also a serious concern.
“Students must have achievements from various fields, not just winning competitions. But it must also have an impact on the environment and society. Such as in the field of recognition by making journals or scientific works and social activities that provide benefits to the community," said Ria.
Meanwhile, Assessor of Outstanding Achievements Rizki Amalia, S.KM., M.H., Sc., said that the assessment of Outstanding Achievements was carried out by calculating the form of excellent achievements/achievement rankings and categories of implementation, namely international, regional, national and provincial levels.
Furthermore, to prepare UPNVJ Mawapres to perform optimally at the national level Pilmapres, participants will be provided with assistance or coaching related to scientific work manuscripts, English language skills, personality and attitudes, and instilling the values of defending the country which is the identity of UPNVJ as a state defense campus.
