irst Day of PORSIMNAS WIMAYA 2022, Nine Participants from the UPNVJ Contingent Successfully Entered the Final Round

UPNVJ PR – The first day of PORSIMNAS WIMAYA 2022 (12/07/2022) was enlivened by basketball, futsal, and pencak silat matches. UPN Veteran Jakarta certainly participates in all sports that are competed; one men's and women's basketball team, one men's futsal team, and ten male and four female fighters.

The results of today's match show that the basketball team and the futsal team are still in the preliminary round after losing to teams from other universities. While in the sport of pencak silat, the results are quite encouraging.

One gold medal has been pocketed by UPNVJ through the sport of Pencak Silat in the Baku Men's Single Art Category presented by Wahid Oktovian, a new student of Communication Studies. In addition, there were nine participants who made it through to the final round of the Men's and Women's Pencak Silat Competing Category. The names that passed are; Wahid Oktovian, Rafly Ridho Jamalulail, Aneesha Diaz Ramadhini, Della Anistia, Angela Wilmina, Amelia Azzahra Chairun Nisa, Muhammad Faisal, Regina Faraz Labila, and Azarya Raffael Siburian.

The final round was even more interesting because some of the nine names met each other in the arena (Wahid Oktovian vs. Rafly Ridho and Della Anistia vs. Angela Wilmina). This shows that UPN Veteran Jakarta is certain to get two more gold medals.

The PR team managed to interview one of the representatives of the participants who passed the final round. Rafly Ridho Jamalulail, a 2018 Marine Engineering student, admitted that he was very happy considering that he was a final year student who did not practice as often as before. "I, as a seventh semester, who has not practiced for a long time, also came here with minimal preparation, so I'm just desperate. I feel happy for sure because what I have been doing in this training has paid off.” he said.

Rafly, who knew his opponent in the Final round, was a friend of the UKM team, thought that this was quite profitable because he had already done joint exercises so that he knew what the strengths and weaknesses of his opponent and himself were. He also admitted that he has a special strategy, namely by focusing on slamming and cutting techniques which he thinks are his forte.

At the end of the interview, Rafly gave a message to the UPNVJ Pencak Silat team to always develop. Meanwhile, the university is expected to always show support for UPNVJ Pencak Silat so that it can continue to provide the best for the campus.
