HumasUPNVJ - Sartika Aliffia, a student of the Faculty of Health Sciences UPN Veterans Jakarta batch 2019 became the only participant who took part in the essay competition in the Widya Mwat Yasa National Student Sports, Arts, and Scientific Week (PORSIMNAS WIMAYA) 2022 Scientific Branch and managed to get a Silver medal by beating eight participants from other UPN Veterans. This essay competition carries the theme, "The Realization of the Value of Defending the State in Facing the Dynamics of the Current Indonesian Government" with sub-themes including Education, Social Culture, Economics, Defense and Security and Technology.
On the occasion, Sartika explained the criteria that according to him are quite strict in the scientific branch this time, "There are many requirements that must be completed, such as participants registered as active students (D3/S1) from each university, as evidenced by attaching a Student Identity Card. allowed to submit a maximum of 2 essay manuscripts. Essay manuscripts sent are original works that have never been published and have never been contested, the submitted manuscript must be free from all forms of plagiarism. If it is proven to be in violation, it will be disqualified, the essay uses good and correct writing according to PUEBI (General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling), the essay does not contain anything that can cause provocation and does not contain elements of SARA (Ethnicity, Religion, Race, and Inter-groups), Title and the content of the writing must be in accordance with the theme of the competition. Posts that are not related to the competition theme will be excluded from the selection list. Participants who qualify for the 10 finalists must prepare presentation materials in the form of Power Point in Indonesian with the format: Power Point a maximum of 10 slides excluding cover and thank you, Color PowerPoint slides must not contrast with the writing, the minimum writing font is 22, the presentation time to be given is 5 minutes/participant, if it exceeds the specified limit it will affect the value reduction," he explained.
Sartika also explained in detail about the essays he was competing in, “The essay I brought raised the topic of eliminating food loss and waste (FLW) to deal with climate change in Indonesia. The incidence of FLW in Indonesia is high and has an urgency that can contribute to greenhouse gas emissions that trigger climate change. Many Indonesian people do not realize that food waste is the most abundant waste in Indonesia. Therefore, this essay is published to increase public awareness of this issue and provide solutions in order to control climate change through the elimination of food loss and waste,” said Tika.
Sartika said that the reason he took part in this competition was to give his best work to make the alma mater proud.
