UPNVJ Students Successfully Receive the ISDP BSI 2022 Award

HumasUPNVJ - Jakarta Veterans National Development University has many students who always make achievements in various fields, one of which is Adam Merdeka who is a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate student who won the 2022 BSI ISDP (Islamic Sociopreneur Development Program Bank Syariah Indonesia) Award.

ISDP is a Business Incubator Scholarship program that prepares students to become Muslim entrepreneurs who have entrepreneurial skills, have social awareness and are efficient in society and provide business capital for 1-2 years by selecting young entrepreneurs from various campuses in Indonesia.

Met in Yogyakarta by the UPNVJ Public Relations Team when participating in the PORSIMNAS WIMAYA entrepreneurial activity, Adam told the process of joining the 2022 ISDP program, “I joined this program because I saw many benefits for the awardees such as getting business capital of up to 200 million, getting pocket money every month, business training with practitioners offline/online, and also business assistance for 2 years. This is very much needed for my business so that it can be more developed and better in the future," explained Adam with enthusiasm.

"This year, ISDP has partnered with 50 universities in Indonesia, but 32 campuses have passed through to the final stage, such as UI, ITB, UGM, UPI, etc. At the beginning of the registration, there were around 1457 registrants, while only 100 awardees passed to the final stage. There are 3 stages of the selection process, namely administrative selection (personal data, CV, business profile, filling out dozens of questions, pitchdeck, and video presentations), interview stage with BSI, and the last stage is business presentation in front of direct practitioners. This program will be implemented for about 1-2 years, and every month there will be online and offline business assistance/training, and later in August all awardees from all over Indonesia will be invited to hold the first 3 day gathering in Jakarta," explained Adam further.

Adam explained that what he prepared apart from paperwork for administration, what he prepared was a great sense of self-confidence, “The preparation I did was to maximize each selection phase, such as the administration phase, there were a lot of files that had to be prepared so you had to be careful in preparing them. , and at the interview stage and business presentations in front of practitioners, we must be more confident about the business products we have,” he explained.

Adam hopes that this program can be the best step to develop the business he started and spread its benefits more widely.
