Prevent Stunting, UPNVJ FK Performs Joint Service with FK Untirta

HumasUPNVJ - The UPN VETERAN JAKARTA Faculty of Medicine Community Service Team in collaboration with the Community Service Team at the Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University Medical Faculty (UNTIRTA) Serang Banten carried out the Joint Partnership Program (PKB) activities in Sindangsari Village, Pabuaran Serang - Banten. The Joint Partnership Program (PKB) is one of the Community Service schemes initiated by UPNVJ by involving Community Service Teams from other universities that have implemented MoUs with UPNVJ, one of which is UNTIRTA Serang Banten. The Service Team from the UPNVJ Faculty of Medicine consisting of:

1) dr. Agneta Irmarahayu, M.Pd.Ked, SpKKLP.

2) Dr. dr. Maria S Thadeus, M. Biomed, SpKKLP.

3) dr. Wisdom Muktamiroh, M.MedEd, SpKKLP.

4) dr. Tiwuk Susantiningsih, M.Biomed, SpKKLP.

5) Dr. Kristina Simanjuntak, M. Biomed.

together with the Service Team from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa (UNTIRTA) Serang Banten consisting of:

  1. dr. Rukman Abdullah, M.Pd.Ked.
  2. Fachruddin Perdana, S.Gz., M.Si.

In this activity, 5 students from FK UPNVJ and 3 students from FK UNTIRTA Serang Banten were also involved.

The Joint Service Team (PKB) Carry out community service activities with the theme: Training and Assistance on Consumption Patterns, Baby Care and Personal and Environmental Hygiene Through Strengthening the Role of Posyandu Cadres in Stunting Prevention in Sindangsari Village, Serang, Banten

Counseling and training was given to Posyandu cadres and new cadres in Sindangsari Village as a partner group, especially cadres and mothers with babies and toddlers. The community is actively involved in this counseling and training activity so that the knowledge and skills of the cadres and mothers at the Sindangsari Village Posyandu increase, so that they can support the success of the extension, training and mentoring program:

- Counseling and Assistance Training for Infant Consumption Patterns.

- Counseling and Training on Babysitting Pattern Assistance

- Counseling and Training for Toddler Growth and Development Assistance

- Counseling and training on personal and environmental hygiene assistance, as well as 6 steps for washing hands with soap.

In carrying out this Joint Service activity, the team from UPNVJ FK and Untirta FK divided into four activity topics, namely: Consumption Patterns in infants and toddlers, Growth and Development of infants and toddlers, Population and Environmental Hygiene, and 6 Steps to Washing Hands Using Soap.

This activity was attended by around 40 participants consisting of Sindangsari Village cadres, Sindangsari Village Midwives and representatives from the Pabuaran Serang Banten Health Center, as well as stakeholders from the Sindangsari Pabuaran Serang Banten Village Government.

This joint service activity was carried out by starting with the administration of the Pre Test, followed by the provision of the first material on: Infant consumption patterns by Dr. Dr. Maria Selvester Thadeus, M. Biomed., SpKKLP and Dra Kristina Simanjuntak, M. Biomed. Second material: Baby Care Patterns by Dr. Hikmah Muktamiroh, M.MedEd., SpKKLP. The third material: Patterns of baby growth and development by Dr. Agneta Irmarahayu, M.PdKed., SpKKLP and the fourth material: about Hygiene and sanitation of the population and the environment by Dr. Rukman Abdullah, M.PdKed. and Fachruddin Perdana, S.Gz., M.Si.

After that, it was continued with training by doing roleplay with 4 training materials guided by Dr. Tiwuk Susantiningsih, M.Biomed., SpKKLP by doing practice and question and answer. The enthusiasm of the participants was shown by presenting each roleplay question and conducting questions and answers during the activity.

After the counseling and training activities, the Post Test was given again which was done by the female cadres to see changes in knowledge before the counseling activities were carried out and after the counseling and training activities were carried out.

The purpose of implementing this PKB is to increase the knowledge and skills of Posyandu cadres in Sindagsari Pabuaran Serang Banten Village regarding the 7 stunting incidents and is expected to contribute to reducing the number of stunting incidents in the Sindangsari Pabuaran Serang Banten Village area.
