HumasUPNVJ – The Pencak Silat Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) has once again made a brilliant achievement in the international arena. At the Paku Bumi Open Championship 13 which took place on January 31 - February 2, 2025 at the Bandung Bedaz GOR, Jalak Harupat, West Java, the UPNVJ team successfully won 2nd Overall Champion in the Adult category, with a total of 22 medals consisting of 16 gold and 6 silver . This achievement even exceeded the initial target set, which was 15 gold medals.
One of the proudest achievements came from Dinara Safina , a student of Information Science , who was named the Best Female Silat Fighter in the championship. Dinara's extraordinary performance in every match managed to bring her the gold medal and the prestigious award.
The Head of UKM Pencak Silat UPNVJ, Wahid Oktovoan in his statement, expressed his gratitude and pride for the achievements achieved by the team. " This result is the fruit of hard work, discipline, and the spirit of never giving up of all athletes as well as full support from the campus and coaches. We hope this achievement can be a motivation for the next generation to continue to make UPNVJ proud at the national and international levels," he said.
The 13th Paku Bumi Open Championship is a prestigious pencak silat competition attended by various schools and institutions from within and outside the country. With this success, UKM Pencak Silat UPNVJ has further established itself as one of the main forces in the world of student pencak silat in Indonesia.
In the future, UKM Pencak Silat UPNVJ is committed to continuously improving the quality of its athletes through intensive training and participation in various other championships. This achievement is real proof that UPNVJ students are not only excellent in academics, but are also able to excel in sports, especially pencak silat.
