"Indonesia adheres to a populist economy. The capitalist economy is not suitable for Indonesia. It will not be able to prosper the Indonesian people," Try said in the Seminar on Pancasila 2022 Series 3 The Spirit of Pancasila for the World "Utilization of Digital Technology in Optimizing the People's Economy" which is a collaboration between UPNVJ and Kompas TV and BPIP at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium, UPNVJ Pondok Labu Campus, South Jakarta, Wednesday (21/9/2022).
The sixth Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia said that advances in digital technology must be followed by development and quality improvement through the development of quality and strategic software for economic and political aspects.
In the midst of the development of digital technology, the question arises whether the application of Pancasila values is still relevant amidst the rapid advancement of technology. According to Try, the use of technology is still human, no matter how advanced technology is. Therefore, the basic values of Pancasila must continue to inspire the use of digital technology.
"The use of Pancasila by humans will make digital technology used for positive things, not for negative uses," he said.
UPNVJ Chancellor Prof. Dr. Erna Hernawati, Ak, CPMA, CA said UPNVJ as the State Defense Campus felt relevant to the Pancasila Seminar. Moreover, if Pancasila is associated with the use of digital technology.
"The Covid-19 pandemic has encouraged massive use of digital technology. Technology can have both positive and negative impacts. Unlimited information accessed using digital technology can shift the nation's noble culture," he said.
The Chancellor said the development of digital technology also required the readiness of human resources. The use of digital technology to support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), for example; requires the ability of business actors to use technology.
Another issue related to the development of digital technology is cybercrime, especially one that is currently being hotly discussed, namely the theft of personal data.
"Students can contribute to preparing MSMEs to have the ability to use digital technology. Students must also prepare themselves to help safeguard institutional and state data so that they are not easily broken into," he said.
