HumasUPNVJ – Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm was elected as the Chancellor of the Jakarta "Veteran" National Development University (UPNVJ) in a closed Senate Session for the 2022–2026 Period Chancellor Election which was held in Nusantara Meeting Room 1, UPNVJ Pondok Labu Campus, South Jakarta, Monday (10 /10/2022).

"Hopefully the elected Chancellor can build UPN 'Veteran' Jakarta even better," said the Head of the UPNVJ Senate Prof. Dr. Bambang Waluyo, SH, MH after the vote count for the Rector Election.

In voting, Venus won 38 votes, followed by Dr. Abdul Halim, M. Ag who won 13 votes, then Dr. R. Dudy Heryadi, M.Si who won 0 votes.

In her remarks, Venus said that the election of the Chancellor was not a competition and not a matter of victory. He believes that a person has a palm line that has been determined by Allah SWT, and it is His destiny that he was chosen as Chancellor of UPNVJ.

“I believe mandates are given and revoked by God. For me, today is His destiny, to continue what was initiated by the previous Chancellor," he said.

Venus said the Chancellor was not a superhuman who could work alone. Because of that, there needs to be synergy, cooperation, and joint commitment of all academicians to bring the best results for UPNVJ.

“I just want to do good. God willing, we both do good and get good rewards," he said.

UPNVJ Chancellor Selection Committee for the 2022–2026 period Satria Yudhia Wijaya, SE, MSAk said that the voting mechanism was carried out directly by members of the Senate and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology represented by the Head of the Human Resources Bureau Dra. Dyah Ismayanti, M.ed.

Satria said the UPNVJ Senate had 65 percent of the vote, while the Ministry had 35 percent of the vote. So the Senate has 34 ballots and the Ministry has 18 ballots.

"This voting was postponed one week from the plan because it adjusted the busyness of the Directorate General of Higher Education to interview the Chancellor candidates," he explained.
