Seminar Executive Series 15 This Time Presenting the Head of the Republic of Indonesia National Food Agency

HumasUPNVJ – Food is one of the important things that must be managed properly for the prosperity of the Indonesian people. It was this thought that sparked the Faculty of Economics and Business UPN "Veteran" Jakarta to hold an Executive Seminar Series 15 with the theme "National Food Security Strategy to Safeguard Indonesia's Economy Post-Pandemic". The activity which was held at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium also invited the Head of the National Food Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Arief Prasetyo Adi, ST., MT as a resource person for this activity. The activity which was held on Monday (1/11/2022) was also attended by the Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. dr. Ria Maria Theresa, SpKJ., MH and Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Dianwicaksih Arieftiara, SE, Ak, M.Ak, CA, CSRS.

"Indonesian people if they don't eat rice it's like not eating, therefore the distribution and sale of rice according to the latest data is 60%," said Mr. Arief Prasetyo Adi, Head of the National Food Agency of the Republic of Indonesia. He also added that rice distribution and sales in Indonesia should only reach 50%. The level of carbohydrate consumption in Indonesia is quite high. Tubers only reached 2.8%. According to him, we are very less to consume tubers.

According to the Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia 125 of 2022 the President assigns the National Food Agency to control and manage government food reserves, the implementation of which can be assigned to state-owned enterprises. According to Mr Arief, the Food Agency does not control food prices in Indonesia. However, when food prices started to rise, the government had to intervene to keep prices stable.
