HumasUPNVJ – Research being carried out by two lecturers at the Jakarta "Veteran" National Development University (UPNVJ), namely Lecturer FT Armansyah, PhD., and Lecturer at FIK Dr. Didit Widiyanto together with lecturers from De Montford University opened opportunities for greater collaboration between the two parties.
The motivation to work together to improve the quality of universities ultimately made the Regional Director for North East and South East Asia at De Montford University, Daniel Winney, come directly to UPNVJ. The visit, which took place on Thursday (09/02) in the Nusantara Meeting Room 1, was basically aimed at discussing a program of cooperation plans that would be forged in the near future.
Quoting from the report submitted by the Head of the Office of International Affairs (KUI), Dr. Bambang Susanto, MA., This meeting is not the first meeting. Previously, UPNVJ had held a virtual meeting with Dr. Ir. Dani Harmanto, MSc., who is an Associate Professor at De Montford University to discuss research collaboration with the two UPNVJ lecturers mentioned above.
"Before this, a meeting was held between UPNVJ and Mr. Dani to discuss joint research on a tilt rotor UAV flight control system for oil palm plantations. The meeting also discussed the possibility of working together in various fields through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).” Said Bambang in his speech.
Based on the results of the discussion, it can be concluded that UPNVJ suggested to De Montford University that it could become a synergistic partner in opening a double degree program for students as proposed by FT.
On the other hand FIK proposed to facilitate the presence of guest lecturers from De Montford University to UPNVJ and vice versa so that they could become lecturers at each university. Moreover, it is also possible for a guest lecturer from De Montford University to become a keynote speaker at the International Conference which will be held by FIK.
Daniel responded well to the proposal for cooperation in the discussion session which took place even though he was eager to process the MoU immediately. According to Daniel, the two universities must carry out the planned collaborative program in parallel. Representing his home university, Daniel even offered sponsorship for Indonesian students, especially at UPNVJ, to get scholarships to study at De Montford University.
