The story of Bayu Saputra, a UPNVJ graduate who won Mahardika who loves to compete

Public RelationsUPNVJ - Bayu Saputra, a graduate of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta from the Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Health Sciences, succeeded in winning the Karya Mahardika Award at the 71st Graduation Ceremony at the Jakarta Convention Center on Tuesday, September 26 2023. Bayu received this award for his brilliant achievements in academic and non-academic fields.

The Karya Mahardika Award is a form of appreciation from UPN "Veteran" Jakarta which is given to Graduates of the Undergraduate Program and Diploma Program who have achievements in academic and non-academic fields.

In total, Bayu achieved 16 achievements when he studied at UPN Veteran Jakarta, with several of them winning first place or winning gold medals.

Bayu admitted that he was happy to participate in various competitions, especially at the Asean Innovative Science, Environmental & Entrepreneur Fair (AISEEF) in 2021.

"This competition is the first international scale competition that my team and I have participated in, even at the study program level it doesn't exist yet," said Bayu.

Initially, Bayu admitted that he was confused about what to do to be able to compete in AISEEF. However, thanks to strong determination and assistance from the supervisor, Bayu and his colleagues were able to complete the project on time.

Various difficulties were faced along the way, especially because the 2021 AISEEF competition took place in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Limited movement makes it difficult for Bayu to discuss directly with the team or supervisor.

"At that time, I was in my hometown (Indramayu), also experiencing difficulties, starting from an unstable network to a busy lecture schedule which meant we had to discuss until late at night every day," said Bayu.

After all preparations were complete, Bayu and his team finally made a presentation at AISEEF 2021. Thanks to the team's hard work and the support of his supervisor, Bayu managed to win a gold medal.

"A feeling of emotion, joy and pride enveloped me and the team on the day of the announcement. This competition was ultimately the beginning of further international scale activities," concluded Bayu.
