"UPN "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) this year is ranked 108th at the national level based on the publication of the Webometrics ranking site in the July 2022 edition. This year's ranking has increased from the previous year where UPNVJ was ranked 272nd," said Anter Venus, Chancellor of UPNVJ.
The publication of this edition marks 20 years of Webometrics in managing ranking data of 31,000 of the world's best universities.
Webometrics has its own method for ranking universities in the world which is based on aspects of presence including knowledge of publications shared, visibility such as the impact of the content published on the page, transparency or openness such as the amount of research, and excellence or scholarly papers in large numbers. quoted .
In the visibility aspect with a value of 50% , the ranking is carried out on the web content impact indicator by analyzing the number of external links connected to the institution's web page. Webometric collects data sources for the number of links from 2 sites, namely Majestic SEO and Ahrefs.
In the aspect of transparency or openness with a value of 10%, the ranking is carried out on indicators of leading researchers cited.
In the excellence or scholar aspect with a score of 40%, ranking is carried out on the Excellence indicator by analyzing the top cited articles. The method used is based on the number of articles in the complete database of the Scimago site for the five year period from 2018 to 2022.
"This is indeed an important measurement for state universities. It can be seen that currently UPNVJ is quite good where we have seen quite a significant increase from the previous year, hopefully it can be maintained or even better," said Anter Venus.
