Public Relations UPNVJ - The International Relations Student Association (HIMA HI) National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta held an event entitled Veteran Jakarta Model United Nations (VETAMUN) at the Abdul Rachman Saleh Building, UPNVJ Pondok Labu Campus on Sunday, November 5 2023.

Taking place from 09.00 to 15.30 WIB, VETAMUN 2023 is a special platform where delegates from various educational institutions gather to engage in diplomatic discussions, discuss global issues, and develop critical thinking and negotiation skills.

This event was attended by various participants, including delegates from UPNVJ, Jember University, UIN Jakarta, and students from SMA Penabur, SMAN 34 Jakarta, and SMAN 106 Jakarta.

Lumongga Jeanetta Simatupang, Chair of HIMA HI UPNVJ, said that VETAMUN is always a unique and valuable experience for the participants.

"This provides space for prospective diplomats and future leaders to explore the complexities of international relations and solving global problems," he said.

"This year, we are very happy to receive delegations from leading institutions, including high school students who are the future leaders of our country," continued Lumongga.

Composed of various committees, VETAMUN 2023 focuses on aspects of international relations and diplomacy. Each delegation represents a different country, and they work together to address a variety of pressing global issues. The delegates also simulated United Nations (UN) style negotiations, including the scheme of formulating a resolution.

This practical experience empowers participants to understand the complexities of international diplomacy and develop diplomacy, negotiation and public speaking skills.

VETAMUN 2023 aims to provide a holistic learning experience for all participants, encouraging cross-cultural understanding and enhancing effective communication. The event also emphasizes critical thinking and encourages research and collaboration among students from different educational and cultural backgrounds.
