Public RelationsUPNVJ - In order to bring closer and strengthen cooperation between the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta and the Business World of Industry (DUDI), recently the Chancellor of UPN Veteran Jakarta, Dr. Anter Venus, MA.Comm visited the PT Arjuna Utama Sawit oil palm plantation in Katingan, Central Kalimantan on Saturday, November 11 2023.
This collaborative visit was accompanied by the Head of LPPM and the multidisciplinary UPNVJ Lecturer Research Team, consisting of Prof. Dr. Erna, Ak, CPMA, CS, CGOP, Dr. Tjahyanto, S.Kom, MM, Dr. Didit Widiyanto, S.Kom, MM, Armansyah, ST, M.Sc, Ph. D, Budhi Martana, ST, MT, and Indra Permana Solihin, S.Kom, M.Kom.
They were all warmly welcomed by the main director and Head of Plantation, Ir. Nurul Huda, GM Arjuna Plantation Sugianto, along with other leaders and staff.
The total area of oil palm plantations in Central Kalimantan is around 2,018,000 hectares, including the fifth largest in Indonesia. PT Arjuna Utama Sawit itself is one of the companies from the First Borneo Group which manages 100,000 hectares of oil palm plantations throughout Indonesia.
Oil palm plantations themselves have enormous potential in supporting community economic growth. This is because the demand for palm oil is still relatively far from the amount of production. In general, three main products from palm oil can be explained, namely large fruit bunches which become crude CPO, crude palm kernel oil (CPKO) and palm kernel expeller (PKE).
This collaborative visit is a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was signed in January 2023. During this visit, the company represented by the Head of Plantation provided a complete presentation regarding business processes, characteristics of palm oil and work procedures in the plantation environment. .
On this occasion, the UPNVJ research team also provided a presentation regarding the cooperation plans that will be carried out starting from aspects of business governance or Enterprise Resource Planning, management of tangkos waste (empty fruit bunches), to the use of UAV (unmanaged aerial vehicle) technology to monitor plantation conditions. .
All of these proposals are aimed at two objectives, namely the proposal for the Kedaireka program and proposals for cooperation in efforts to downstream research results.
