UPNVJ Visits UNN Russia on Mission to Strengthen Scientific and Educational Projects

Public RelationsUPNVJ - A delegation from the Jakarta "Veteran" National Development University (UPNVJ) visited its Russian partner, Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (UNN). The visiting mission followed up on various joint scientific and educational project agreements that had been agreed upon in the Memorandum of Undertaking (MoU) on March 27.

The UPNVJ delegation was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Istiyanto S. Bekti and the Head of the Communications Department (Kajur), Munadhil Abdul Muqsith.

"We continue to strive to implement cooperation through various international scientific and educational cooperation programs with various campuses in other countries as now," said Bekti in Nizhny Novgorod.

During the visit, the UPNVJ delegation became guest lecturers or guest lecturers to students majoring in Public Relations and Journalism, Institute of Philology and Journalism at UNN.

Bekti presented the topic "Communication for Solutions to Socio-Cultural Conflict - Case Study of the Role of Intercultural Communication in Indonesia," while Munadhil "Media Systems in Indonesia."

Apart from guest lecturers, the UPNVJ delegation carried out benchmarking by visiting the media laboratory at the UNN Media Center. "Laboratory management and synergy between practical courses here can be input into FISIP UPNVJ," said Bekti.

On this occasion, UPNVJ and UNN also held cooperation negotiations with the Deputy Chancellor for International Activities and Networks at Lobachevsky University, Alexander Bedny, Deputy Vice Chancellor Konstantin Kemaev, Director of the Institute of Philology and Journalism Larisa Zhukovskaya and deputy director of IFIZh Lyudmila Makarova.

The two sides discussed scientific and educational cooperation, including the launch of academic exchange programs, the development of scientific research, including a joint project to study fact-checking technology, holding joint conferences, and interaction in the field of learning Russian as a foreign language for Indonesian students.

UPNVJ and UNN also spoke about the prospects for creating educational programs and short-term courses in the most promising fields - international journalism and international relations.

The Indonesian side expressed great interest in collaborating in other fields, including fundamental and clinical medicine, agriculture and biotechnology, materials science, computer science, economics and international law.
