Realizing Social Responsibility, UPNVJ Holds Blood Donation Activities

Public Relations UPNVJ - In commemoration of the 46th Anniversary, the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta held a blood donation activity in the Joint Hall of the UPNVJ Mustopo Building, Pondok Labu Campus on Thursday, November 23 2023.

This activity was organized by the Indonesian Red Cross Voluntary Corps (KSR PMI) UPNVJ in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross, DKI Jakarta Province.

Taking place from 08.00 to 12.00 WIB, the blood donation event was attended by 75 donors from students, lecturers and education staff at UPNVJ.

UPNVJ Chancellor Dr. Anter Venus, MA.Comm was present directly to monitor the blood donation process. He welcomed this activity as part of the realization of UPNVJ's moral and social responsibility in helping others.

"We have to help each other in life, because this is our human obligation," said Venus.

"Helping other people by donating blood has high human values, because this sincerely helps human souls without ever knowing who our blood will be donated to," he continued.

There are requirements for blood donation activities at UPNVJ. In general, donors must be physically and mentally healthy. Meanwhile, other special requirements include:

1. Aged 17-60 years.
2. Have a minimum body weight of 45 kilograms
3. Body temperature 36.6-37.5 degrees Celsius.
4. Blood pressure should be 100-160 for systolic and 70-100 for diastolic.
5. During examination, the pulse should be around 50-100 beats per minute.
6. Minimum hemoglobin level of 12 gr/dl for women, and minimum 12.5 gr/dl for men.

Previously in October 2023, UPNVJ Medical Faculty students together with the Gatot Soebroto RSPAD medical team held a blood donation activity. This activity is an annual event organized by the FK Medical Assistance Team called the Avicenna Assistance Corps specifically for Young Forces.

This blood donation aims to be a form of social service and an embodiment of humanity. The collected blood bags were distributed to patients who needed blood transfusion support at Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital.
