UPNVJ Attends the Closing of the 2023 Advocate Profession Special Education Class

Public Relations UPNVJ - National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta attended the closing of the final class of Special Education for the Advocate Profession (PKPA) 2023 which was held in collaboration between the Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi) and the Indonesian Advocates Association (Ikadin).

The closing took place at the DPC Peradi Secretariat, West Jakarta in the Graha Slipi Building on Sunday, December 17 2023. The last PKPA class in 2023 took place on December 1.

The event was attended by representatives from three parties, including the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation from UPN Veteran Jakarta: Dr. Slamet Tri Wahyudi, SH, MH; Daily Chair of the IKADIN DPP and also Chair of the West Jakarta Peradi DPC Dr. Suhendra Asido Hutabarat, SH, SE, MM, MH; Secretary General of the IKADIN Central Association Council: Rivai Kusumanegara SH, MH; Head of PKPA, Certification and Collaboration at DPN PERADI University: Dr. Ir. Firmanto Laksana Pangaribuan, SH, MM, MH; and Chair of the PKPA Committee: Genesius Anugerah, SH.

"Thank God, after a series of PKPA classes from 1 to 16 December 2023, the participants have received the best material. In working on UPA questions, participants must have and prepare logical thinking and argumentation," said Dr. Slamet, referring to the Advocate Professional Examination.

"I advise, after going through the debriefing and passing the UPA, that later you will be sworn in as an advocate through Peradi, because DPN Peradi is the only advocate organization recognized by the state (single bar)," he continued.

"The collaboration between UPN Veteran Jakarta and DPC Peradi Jakarta is not only completed in PKPA, but also in other collaboration programs," concluded Dr. Slamet.

Meanwhile, as chairman of the PKPA committee, Genesius expressed his thanks to all parties who supported this year's final class. He hopes that the next PKPA class can go even better.

Professional Advocate

Secretary General of the IKADIN Central Association Council, Rivai Kusumanegara SH, MH, said that the final PKPA 2023 class was attended by 119 participants. He hopes that the participants can become strong advocates who are ready to face future challenges and be well accepted in society.

"We continue to equip ourselves and hope to join DPC Peradi West Jakarta and DPP IKADIN. PKPA participants can discuss with each other in the Advocate community. IKADIN is the Advocate organization that gave birth to Peradi. We also continue to maintain the values and integrity in the profession as Advocates. Let's "We continue to fight to restore the dignity of law in Indonesia," said Rivai.

General Chairperson of DPN Peradi, Prof. Dr. Otto Hasibuan, SH., MH., MM delivered his opening remarks online. He congratulated all parties on holding the final PKPA class in 2023.

He said there was an increasing trend regarding DPN Peradi providing recommendations to advocates who wanted to work abroad via a Certificate of Good Standing. According to Prof Otto, this is a form of respect from foreign parties to DPN Peradi.

"Many also admit that Peradi is the youngest advocate organization that has proud achievements," said Prof Otto, while saying that an advocate must be able to give the best to the client (best effort) in defending justice.

In final remarks, Dr. Suhendra as Chair of the West Jakarta Peradi DPC is grateful for the support of all parties, namely the Peradi DPN, IKADIN DPP, UPNVJ, and the West Jakarta Peradi DPC committee. He said that the graduation of PKPA participants was determined by the participants themselves, and also implemented "Zero" Corruption, Collusion and Nepotism (KKN).

So far, there have been more than 3,000 graduates from the PKPA class held by DPC Peradi West Jakarta. "Be a quality advocate, with integrity and professionalism," concluded Dr Suhendra.
