The Chancellor Attended the Handover of the Position of Chair of the UPNVJ Research Ethics Commission

Public RelationsUPNVJ - The Research Ethics Committee (KEP) of the Jakarta "Veteran" National Development University (UPNVJ) handed over the position from the previous official, Prof. Dr. Dr. M. Guritno Suryokusumo, to Prof. Dr. Med. Dr. Frans Santosa as Chairman of KEP on Thursday, March 7 2024. This new chairman will work for the 2024-2026 term.

The handover of office was witnessed directly by UPNVJ Chancellor Dr. Delivery of Venus which took place in the KEP Meeting Room, Merch Building, UPNVJ Limo Campus.

"I am confident and hope that with this new leadership, KEP can provide services and facilities for researchers, especially within the UPNVJ environment in order to guarantee the quality of research implementation that meets ethical standards (ethical sound) in addition to scientific standards (scientific sound)," said Venus in his speech.

Venus also said that in the future, KEP UPNVJ will not only be a service institution for managing ethical aspects in research, but will also be a profit center that must be supported -- one of the indicators for PTN-BLU or even PTN-BH

"I am confident that with the leadership of Prof. Frans and all its members, KEP UPNVJ will continue to exist and continue to develop, and can improve its service performance while maintaining the qualification standards that have been achieved as a reputable ethics committee," said Venus.

"It is also hoped that in the future it can become income generating, especially for researchers from outside UPNVJ," he added.

In the series of events there was also a workshop with resource person Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sudomo who discussed Providing an Introduction to Ethics and the Role of the Research Ethics Committee. Another resource person was Harnawan Rizky, S.Sc., MOHRE, who discussed the presentation entitled "How to Review Health and Non-Health/Social Research Protocols.
