Public Relations UPNVJ - In order to increase international understanding and cooperation with Central Asian countries, the Jakarta "Veteran" National Development University (UPNVJ) through the International Affairs Office (KUI) held a meeting with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Indonesia, Serzhan Abdukarimov.
The meeting was held directly in the UPNVJ Chancellor's Room on Wednesday, July 31 2024, with the aim of strengthening relations between UPNVJ and Kazakhstan. Not only that, this meeting was also held to prepare for a major event, namely Central Asian Studies, which is planned to take place on August 30 2024.
"Central Asia is a region that has a long and complex history, with various unique social, economic and political dynamics. Kazakhstan, as one of the largest countries in the region, has an important role in the regional geopolitical and economic context," said UPNVJ Chancellor Dr. Anter Venus in her meeting with Ambassador Serzhan.
"Through this meeting, I hope to open a more intensive and in-depth dialogue regarding the current issues facing Central Asian countries, as well as promote closer academic and research cooperation," he continued.
During the meeting, the implementation of Central Asian Studies was also discussed, which aims to provide UPNVJ students and staff with broader insight into the diversity and richness of culture in Central Asia. Apart from that, it is also hoped that this event can become a platform for constructive discussion and exchange of ideas between academics, diplomats and practitioners.
"This meeting is an important step in strengthening cooperation between UPNVJ and Kazakhstan, as well as in preparing the Central Asian Studies event which is expected to provide great benefits for all participants," he said.
Ambassador Serzhan will provide an introduction to Kazakhstan, covering its history, social development and economic progress that has been achieved. He emphasized the importance of Kazakhstan on the geopolitical map of Central Asia and its strategic role in global economic initiatives.
Apart from that, Ambassador Serzhan reminded that August 29 is the International Day against Nuclear Tests and there will be a screening of a film with a duration of around 30-40 minutes that is relevant to this theme. This film is expected to provide an in-depth understanding of Central Asia, especially Kazakhstan.
Regarding the big agenda that will be implemented, Ambassador Serzhan also provided several suggestions, including regarding invited guests and related experts to participate in the event. It is hoped that the participation of experts can enrich discussions and provide a more comprehensive perspective on current issues in Central Asia.
The meeting closed with the hope that this activity could confirm a strong commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and understanding more deeply about Central Asia. All suggestions and input from this meeting will be considered to ensure the success of the Central Asian Studies event at UPNVJ.
