UPNVJ Chancellor Attends National Veterans Day 2024

HumasUPNVJ - The Chancellor of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta Anter Venus attended the commemoration of the 67th Indonesian Veteran Legion (LVRI) Day in Jakarta on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

The theme of this year's National Veterans Day is "LVRI Together with the Government Ready to Continue Development Towards Golden Indonesia 2045"

Attended by General (ret.) Try Soetrisno, General (ret.) Wiranto, and General (ret.) Hendropriyono, the event was opened with remarks by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Lieutenant General TNI Herindra.

In his remarks, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia read out President Joko Widodo's remarks, which stated that LVRI is the guardian of the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.

"All parties must fill the independence for Indonesia to advance. For that, we need to learn from Indonesian veterans," said the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of LVRI stated that the fighting spirit of veterans will never fade and be at the forefront in defending the country and nation of Indonesia. "The country that we fought for ourselves with the energy, thoughts, blood and tears of our own nation's children," he said.

Meanwhile, Venus said that as an institution that carries the name of Veteran, UPNVJ is often seen as a living monument to the struggle of the legion of veterans in the field of education.

"The close relationship between UPN Veteran Jakarta and the Indonesian Veteran Legion continues to be maintained in various activities, ranging from consultations, friendships, ToT training for instructors inheriting the values of the '45 struggle, to training in providing the values of the '45 struggle for lecturers and students," he said.
