UPNVJ and UiTM Strengthen Partnership Through Summer Short Course in Malaysia

Public RelationsUPNVJ - The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) and the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies (FKPM) of the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) are collaborating to hold a 14-day Summer Short Course from July 31 to August 13, 2024 at the FKPM UiTM Campus in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia.

"We are very enthusiastic to partner with FKPM UiTM in organizing this Summer Short Course program. This collaboration not only strengthens the relationship between UPNVJ and UiTM, but also provides an opportunity for students to gain valuable international experience, broaden their academic horizons, and deepen cross-cultural understanding," said Dr. Munadhil, the initiator of the program and Head of the Department of Communication Science, FISIP UPNVJ on Monday, August 5, 2024.

Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FISIP UPNVJ, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fitria Ayuningtyas, appreciated this activity as a strategic step in strengthening synergy between educational institutions in Indonesia and Malaysia.

"Through this Summer Short Course program, students will get a unique opportunity to study in an international environment, develop global networks, and apply their knowledge in a broader context," said Fitria, who hopes that this collaboration can continue.

In line with Dr. Fitria, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, FKPM, UiTM, TS. Dr. Noor Mayudia Mohd Mothar was also happy to be able to host this short course.

According to him, this program will provide students with the opportunity to establish closer academic relationships, while introducing them to the culture and social dynamics in Malaysia.

"This is a real manifestation of our commitment to encouraging cross-cultural learning and broadening students' horizons at the global level," said Mayudia.

This International Short Course was held face-to-face at UiTM, Shah Alam. Afterwards, the program was continued online with FKPM UiTM students and was also attended by 12 students from various Study Programs at FISIP UPNVJ.

The short course participants consisted of Farrel Nathania (Bachelor of International Relations), Nasywa Astrid Indriani (Bachelor of Communication Science), Gabriel Adeline (Bachelor of International Relations), Dyandra Finandita (Bachelor of International Relations), Najla Dinda Nisrina (Bachelor of Information Science), Faiz Tamara Ramadhani (Bachelor of International Relations), Azmalita Bintang Mahadewi (Bachelor of Communication Science), Irdam Rosdi Alghozaly (Bachelor of Communication Science), Tasya Hizrah Aprillia (Bachelor of Information Science), Khairunissa Zhakiyah (Bachelor of Information Science), Asma Zahrah (Bachelor of Information Science), and Lintang Kemilau Sakti (Bachelor of International Relations).

This International Short Course discusses 14 different subjects filled by 14 UiTM lecturers during face-to-face. While the online scheme lasts for 10 meetings which are also attended by students from UiTM.

The teaching staff from both campuses also worked together in this short course, which ultimately resulted in collaborative project-based learning together in groups.
