UPNVJ 2024 PKKMB Talkshow Discusses Technology Adaptation in the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0 and 5.0

HumasUPNVJ - Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) held a talk show in the framework of the New Student Campus Life Introduction Program (PKKMB) with the theme "Higher Education in the Era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 and 5.0." This event presented two well-known speakers from the technology industry, namely Mulawarman, Director Operational GOTO, and Fanny Verona, C-Level Line Indonesia.

In this talk show, Mulawarman and Fanny Verona share deep insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by students in the ever-evolving digital era.

Mulawarman began the session by emphasizing the importance of technology adaptation skills.

"The ability to live and work with technology is an essential skill in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 and 5.0. Technology should be seen as a tool, not a threat. Effective adaptation to technology allows us to remain relevant in the ever-changing job market," he said.

Meanwhile, Fanny provides insight into skills that cannot be replaced by technology.

"Technical skills or hard skills may be replaced by technology, but soft skills such as problem solving and critical analysis skills remain human strengths. The human ability to analyze and solve problems carefully and critically cannot be completely replaced by machines," he explained.

In a discussion about career preparation, Fanny emphasized the importance of positioning yourself uniquely in the job market. "With many jobs being replaced by technology, competition in the job market will be increasingly tight. Students need to find their uniqueness and adapt to technology to compete well," she said.

Responding to this, Mulawarman added, "Awakening the unique side of ourselves is the key to standing out. Don't feel threatened by technology. Instead, make technology a tool to help us grow and find ways to be special and different from others."

Speaking about student career development, Mulawarman gave advice to focus and find partners who can motivate each other. "Focus on what we do and avoid being influenced by existing trends. Find partners who support our development," he said.

Meanwhile, Fanny emphasized the importance of investing in energy and mind for self-development. "Never stop learning. Keep relevant to the development of the times and technology. Learning and adapting are the keys to staying at the forefront," she added.
