HumasUPNVJ - Proud news has again come from the Taekwondo Veteran Jakarta Student Activity Unit (TAVEJA) which succeeded in winning 9 medals from the DKI Jakarta Taekwondo League Series 8 at the Ciracas Sports Hall, East Jakarta, on Sunday (27/10/94).

Taekwondo Veteran Jakarta brought 11 (eleven) contingents competing in this event with the details of the medals won being 5 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze Medal.

In this prestigious event, TAVEJA athletes competed with 3,200 participants from 5 (five) provinces in Indonesia.

Nadhifa Tsalis, the head of UKM TAVEJA, said that it was a source of pride for her and her team to be able to take part in this prestigious competition. Not only did she and her team manage to take home 9 medals at once.

"In my opinion, yesterday's event was a very prestigious match which was attended by approximately 3,200 athletes from various campuses and clubs in Jakarta and 5 invited provinces, of course we are very proud to be able to participate in such a big event," said Nadhif.

Initially, the competition was only held for 3 days, but it was extended to 4 days due to the overwhelming enthusiasm of the participants.

"TAVEJA athletes have done their best and shown that the consistency of training that has been carried out for the past month from Monday to Friday has produced satisfactory results by winning 5 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 1 bronze medal," he explained.

"I hope that friends who have achieved the highest podium are not quickly satisfied with the results and for friends who have not achieved maximum results can continue the process. And we hope that the campus can provide appreciation and remain consistent in providing support to students who excel," he hoped.

Nadhifa also said that she and her team were able to participate in this event thanks to the full support of the campus which also provided facilities from the training period to the match.

"Alhamdulillah, the campus has provided the best support for the competing athletes, almost all facilities have been fulfilled by the campus. Starting from match and training equipment, match registration to accommodation while carrying out the task," he said.

"The specific target that we want to achieve is that TAVEJA can provide even more maximum results in the last event of this year, which is the match in November. In addition, our target next year is to have the opportunity to make UPN Veteran Jakarta proud in international matches," he concluded.
