Public RelationsUPNVJ - The Faculty of Computer Science, National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) held a seminar entitled The 6th International Conference on Informatics, Multimedia, Cyber, and Information System (ICIMCIS) at the Episode Hotel, Gading Serpong, Tangerang, Banten, Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
Themed “Strategies and Green Computing Technologies in Achieving Food and Energy Resilience,” this seminar presented six keynote speakers, and at least 190 academics and practitioners who presented their research results.
The seminar was officially opened by the Chancellor of UPNVJ Anter Venus, who appreciated FIK as a faculty that consistently organizes international conferences with indexed proceedings output.
Venus emphasized the importance of this conference in supporting UPNVJ's vision as an internationally-standardized superior university that is innovative, competitive, and has a national defense identity. She also said that this year's theme is in line with UPNVJ's mission.
The Chancellor hopes that this activity can encourage research and strategic ideas for the advancement of Indonesia. He also appreciates the support from IEEE Indonesia and the contribution of all participants and committees in making this event a success.
Dean of FIK UPNVJ Prof. Supriyanto thanked the rector and all parties who supported this event, including keynote speakers from various countries and partners such as Binus University and AMIKOM Yogyakarta.
Prof. Supriyanto explained that this conference is a manifestation of the faculty's vision in developing knowledge in the field of information technology. This conference is expected to be a forum for effective collaboration and innovative exchange of ideas, as well as strengthening partnerships between individuals and institutions for the advancement of information technology.
ICIMCIS 2024 Chairperson Dr Widya Cholil appreciated all participants, honored guests, and keynote speakers for their participation. He highlighted the importance of this event as a place to share knowledge, build collaboration, and create innovation, in line with the theme.
Cholil hopes that this conference can have a significant impact on the academic community and the nation in the future.
The second day
Entering the second day, the conference presented various interesting sessions focusing on the application of green technology in supporting food and energy security.
The event started at 08.00 WIB with the opening and presentations from the main speakers, namely:
1. Prof. Dr. Ir. Supriyanto, ST., M.Sc., IPM., Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, who highlighted the role of technology in digital transformation, especially in the implementation of smart cities.
2. Prof. Hsing Chung Chen from Asian University Taiwan, who delivered online material related to sustainable energy innovation, especially regarding cyber security.
3. Dr. Ali Abdulrazzaq Khudr from Universite de Haute-Alsace, France, who was also present online to discuss the development of green technology based on scientific research.
Interactive discussions facilitated Q&A sessions between participants and keynote speakers. Afterwards, parallel sessions were held for research presentations from various scientific fields.
The conference closed with the announcement of awards for the best papers and presenters in categories such as Multimedia and E-learning, Cybersecurity, and Information Systems. The winners received award certificates handed over directly by the committee.
With the success of ICIMCIS 2024, participants are expected to continue to collaborate in driving technological innovation to address global challenges, especially in the food and energy sectors.
This conference is an important momentum in strengthening relations between academia and industry at the international level.
