Public RelationsUPNVJ – UPN “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) officially opened a Gojek shelter on campus today, Thursday, November 14, 2024. The inauguration ceremony, which was quite lively, was attended by the Deans of UPNVJ, Plt. Head of the Planning, Finance, and General Affairs Bureau (PKU Bureau), representatives from Gojek, several Gojek partners, and education staff and students.
The construction of this shelter is another form of implementation of the cooperation established between the two parties. It is known that UPNVJ and Gojek have officially collaborated since last October, starting with Gojek's involvement in the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) in 2024.
The collaboration between UPN “Veteran” Jakarta and Gojek is a form of positive synergy in supporting mobility and transportation accessibility as well as increasing comfort for the entire UPNVJ academic community and the community around the campus.
Dr. Ahmad Ahsin Thohari, SH, MH who serves as Head of the PKU Bureau and in this case represents the Chancellor, in his speech said that with the construction of this facility, the campus hopes to provide convenience for students, lecturers, and visitors to use online transportation services, especially Gojek, in a more organized, efficient, and safe manner.
"We are very enthusiastic about the existence of this shelter. In addition to providing comfort, the existence of this shelter is also part of our commitment to support safer and more orderly mobility in the campus environment," said the man who is familiarly called Ahsin.
This Gojek Shelter is strategically located near the main campus gate parking lot, making it easy for users to reach the pick-up point quickly without disrupting other activities on campus. Facilities provided include comfortable seating, a shady waiting area, an electricity source, and close access to the main gate.
Gojek also welcomed this collaboration as a form of support for the education sector. "We are pleased to collaborate with UPNVJ to provide a safe and easily accessible transportation solution. Hopefully the presence of this shelter can facilitate the mobility of UPNVJ students in their daily activities," said Mufizar Mahmud, Head of Public Policy & Government Relations Jabodetabek Region.
Mufizar also said that through this collaboration in the future, it is possible that Gojek will open opportunities for UPNVJ students to do internships at Gojek to apply the knowledge and competencies they have gained while studying at UPNVJ.
"We hope that this collaboration will not be the last collaboration. Not only shelter, we are also open to providing internship opportunities for students to study at Gojek. Because those who will replace us at Gojek could be students from UPNVJ," said Mufizar in his speech.
UPNVJ students welcomed the presence of this shelter positively. They considered that this facility would be very helpful especially during rush hour when going to and from campus. "With the shelter, we don't have to be confused about finding a pick-up place anymore, especially when it's raining," said one of the students.
With the inauguration of the Gojek shelter at UPNVJ, it is hoped that the collaborative relationship between the world of education and the private sector can continue in order to create facilities that support mutual comfort and security in the campus environment.
