UPNVJ Chancellor Gives Direction at 2024 West BKS-PTN Working Meeting

Public Relations of UPNVJ - Chancellor of the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) Dr. Anter Venus, MA.Comm gave directions to the participants of the 2024 West PTN BKS working meeting at the Mercure Hotel, Bengkulu City, Thursday, November 14, 2024.

The 2023 West BKS-PTN Working Meeting was held in Meulaboh City, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Province, where Teuku Umar University was the host. On this occasion, Bengkulu University was chosen as the host to hold the West BKS PTN Working Meeting.

Participants in this activity were the Vice Chancellors for Cooperation, Head of the Institute for Research and Community Empowerment (LPPM), and Head of the International Affairs Office of PTN-Barat.

This working meeting discussed the follow-up and completion of the framework of the Community Service Research Consortium Cooperation Agreement of BKS PTN-Barat as well as coordination of national and international cooperation.

On this occasion, Venus gave direction to the meeting participants. In her direction, she said that cooperation would bring benefits to state universities and should be held more often.

"Face-to-face forums must of course be held frequently to generate ideas. As university leaders, we will try to facilitate you for activities like this," explained Venus, who is currently the Deputy Chair of the BKS PTN-West Forum.

Venus also said that cooperation based on institutional development is something that is very important to develop.

"We must learn from each other in any field. Such as finance, public relations, and other fields that are certainly very useful for institutional development," said Venus.

In addition, Venus said that international cooperation should be a focus. Development with industry is important, and between universities and industry is something inseparable.

Vice Chancellor for Planning and Cooperation of Bengkulu University Prof. Dr. Irfan Gustian, S.Si, M.Si. said that this activity was attended by 14 PTN from the West region.

"This activity was attended by 14 PTN in the West Region and was last held at Teuku Umar University Meulaboh. This activity is an effort to establish cooperation and strengthen cooperation," he said.

Prof. Irfan said that the State Universities that attended this activity were Teuku Umar University (Aceh), Jambi University, Sriwijaya University (Palembang), Lampung University, UPN “Veteran” Jakarta, Riau University, Palang Karaya University, Syiah Kuala University (Aceh), Andalas University (Padang), University of North Sumatra, Medan State University, Sumatra Institute of Technology (Lampung), Siliwangi University (Tasikmalaya), Sultan Agung Tirtayasa University (Banten).
