Susvill FK 2024: Free Medical Check Up for Cijantur Community

HumasUPNVJ - Saturday, November 9, 2024 - The Faculty of Medicine of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta (FK UPNVJ) participated in the Sustainable Village 2024 initiated by the Student Executive Board of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta (BEM UPNVJ) by holding a free health check-up service in Kampung Cijantur, Bogor. This program includes checking blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid, height and weight, and health consultations. In addition, FK UPNVJ collaborates with the Rumpin District Health Center to provide blood-boosting tablets, medication, and services related to worms, diarrhea, and Family Planning (KB).

This service is open to people identified through local health center data, with document requirements in the form of a family card and medical check-up administration files. However, high enthusiasm has resulted in many residents without complete documents still coming to use this service. A total of 44 participants aged 16 to 70 years were recorded as having taken part in the health check, reflecting the great need for access to routine health services in the area. However, limited medicines, especially for cases of worms, diarrhea, and birth control, are challenges faced by the UPNVJ FK team.

According to one of the team members, this program is expected to facilitate access to health for the people of Cijantur Village and increase awareness of the importance of a healthy diet and environmental cleanliness. "Many residents suffer from cholesterol and gout. Hopefully, they will be more aware of maintaining their diet. For cases of diarrhea and worms, education on cleanliness and easy access to medicine are very important," he said. This program is also the first step for FK UPNVJ to follow up on the health needs of the community by providing doctors and a better recording system in the future.

This medical check-up program not only helps to address health problems directly but also contributes to increasing public understanding of the importance of maintaining health. FK UPNVJ emphasized the importance of the continuity of similar programs so that the public realizes that health is a primary need. "The village and Sustainable Village can work together with the Health Center to provide continuous health education," said the representative of FK UPNVJ.
