Monday, October 29 2018 at the UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Campus Ceremony Field a flag ceremony was held in commemoration of the 90th Youth Pledge Day. The ceremony which started at 07.30 WIB ran solemnly and smoothly.

Chancellor of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Dr. Erna Hernawati, Ak, CPMA, CA, as the supervisor of the ceremony which was attended by staff and representatives of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta students and members of the Student Regiment. In his remarks, the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia, which was read by the Ceremony Coach, said that the 90th Youth Pledge Commemoration took the theme " BUILD YOUTH, UNITE INDONESIA". This theme was taken on the basis of the importance of youth development to give birth to a younger generation who have faith and fear of God Almighty, have noble character, are healthy, smart, creative, innovative, independent, democratic, responsible, competitive, and have a spirit of leadership, entrepreneurship, pioneering, and nationality based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

In his speech, the Menpora also said that in 2019 the Indonesian people would hold a big event to elect and determine national and regional leaders, including the election of the President and Vice President, as well as the Republic of Indonesia DPR, DPD RI, Provincial/District/City DPRD. For this reason, the role and responsibility of youth in the success of the General Election process later is very much needed. Youth participation in the 2019 ELECTION needs to be increased to create peaceful, credible and quality elections.
