Humas UPNVJ - As a form of concern for environmental sustainability and also to encourage student and community awareness to plant trees in the future, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta is collaborating with the Center for Watershed and Protected Forest Management. Namely planting 1,000 trees with various types of plants. This activity is one of a series of UPNVJ's 56th anniversary events and was attended by the Chancellor, Deputy Chancellor, and other Officials as well as employee and student representatives located in Tanjung Sari, Bogor, West Java (27/12/2018).
The event began with a speech by the Chancellor of UPNVJ, Dr. Erna Hernawati., Ak., CPMA., CA. He hopes that this planting activity will be utilized as well as possible. Moreover, the types of plants grown are mostly medicinal plants, and therefore they will be very useful in the future.
After giving a speech by the Chancellor of UPNVJ, it was followed by remarks from Mr. Junaidi, S.Hut., MT., MA as Head of the Watershed Management Office, who expressed his hope for UPNVJ that, "Hopefully in the future, this activity can be more useful for the surroundings because as we know, planting one tree can provide oxygen for two people, meaning that the slogan of the movement "Plant 25 Trees for Life" will not just be a slogan but we can actually apply it to our daily lives so that we can produce lots of oxygen Of course it can help people.”
Not only the Chancellor of UPNVJ and the Head of BPDAS gave a speech, but Mr. Didi Rosadi as Head of Tanjung Sari Village also expressed his hope that in the future, planting this tree could benefit and prosper the people around this village.
The event closed with the symbolic handing over of tree seedlings between the Head of BPDAS and the Chancellor of UPNVJ and continued with the symbolic planting of 24 trees representing 1000 trees which would be carried out in stages.
