HumasUPNVJ - In an effort to foster leadership, discipline and implementation of National Defense, the Chancellor of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta Prof. Anter Venus released 10 Student Regiments (MENWA) UPNVJ to conduct basic military training at the Dodiklatpur Rindam Jaya Gunung Bunder, Bogor Regency, West Java.
The release was carried out directly by the Chancellor and Menwa Advisor Dr. Ridwan in the Lobby of the UPNVJ Rectorate Building on Monday, January 20, 2025.
"MENWA is an important part that cannot be separated from UPNVJ's identity as a National Defense campus. I hope that MENWA's presence is solid and strong with its numbers continuing to grow," said Venus in her speech.
"This year we have several targets, especially in terms of numbers, there will be an increase," he continued.
"It needs to be understood that becoming MENWA is one part of forming a spirit of unity, national patriotism and a spirit of defending the country and should be a role model for other students," said Venus.
On the same occasion, Ridwan said that the training provided was in the form of physical training and marching, where later they would be trained to work together and build a sense of camaraderie together.
Not only UPNVJ, there are also other universities that participate in this agenda, including students from the University of Indonesia and the Jakarta State Polytechnic.
"Hopefully this will be something that can be emulated by other students, both from UPNVJ itself and students outside UPNVJ, because our goal is to carry the identity of the campus, namely the National Defense campus, and this is one of thousands of implementations that have been carried out by UPNVJ," added Ridwan.
Previously, the event supervisor and person in charge had checked the health of the participants and ensured that those who participated had obtained permission, both from their parents and the university as the main requirement for participating in the training.
