HumasUPNVJ - UPN Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) held the opening ceremony of Introduction to New Student Campus Life (PKKMB) for the 2019/2020 Academic Year at Bumi Mariner Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Monday 12 August 2019.
The ceremony was led by the Muhammad Rohim Student Regiment, a representative of the 2018 Faculty of Engineering, with 2,957 new students. The commander of the 1st Marine Infantry Brigade, Marine Colonel Amir Kasman, SE, MM, and the Chancellor of UPN Veterans Jakarta and his staff attended this event.
The event was opened with an activity report by Dr. Suyatno, MM as chairman of the PKKMB committee which was followed by a speech by the Chancellor of UPN Veterans Jakarta Erna Hernawati. In his remarks he conveyed the theme of the PKKMB activities, namely "Becoming creative, innovative students and defenders of the country in the industrial revolution 4.0 era, with the aim of preparing independent students and accelerating the process of student adaptation to the new environment and providing provisions for success in pursuing education at universities." high level and at the same time is a means to accelerate new students in the transition process to become students who are aware of their rights and obligations," he said.
He also said that this year's PKKMB provided material in the form of debriefing on the education system and regulations in UPNVJ.
"The content of the material in this PKKMB includes debriefing on the higher education system, academic and student activities, state defense material, radicalism, information on drug abuse, and delivery of various campus policies so that it is hoped that later it will support the success of studies at UPNVJ and have competitiveness in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 he said.
The Chancellor of UPNVJ also added "PKKMB is used as the basis for initiating idealism development, instilling and strengthening love for the motherland and concern for the environment as well as in the context of creating generations of character, religious, nationalist, independent, mutual cooperation, and with integrity. PKKMB is also expected to be a vehicle for introducing 5 (five) programs for the national mental revolution movement, namely Indonesia to serve, Indonesia to be clean, Indonesia to be orderly, Indonesia to be independent, and Indonesia to unite. In other words, through PKKMB, we want to provide initial provisions so that students can become college alumni who have depth of knowledge, noble character, love for the motherland, and are globally competitive, " he added.
In this opening ceremony a symbolic embedding was also carried out by wearing the alma mater, hats and new student name tags which were carried out directly by the Chancellor of UPNVJ and striking the gong as a sign that PKKMB activities had begun.
UPNVJ PKKMB activities will be held for 5 days starting from 12 to 16 August 2019 with locations at Bumi Marine Cilandak on 12-14 August 2019 and at the UPN Veteran Campus Jakarta on 15 and 16 August 2019.
