UPNVJ Law Faculty Holds The 1st INCOLS International Conference on Law Studies "Law and Policy Transnational Issues"

Humas UPNVJ - On Thursday, November 19 2020 the 1 st INCOLS International Conference on Law Studies at the Faculty of Law UPN Veterans Jakarta took place with the theme "Law and Policy on Transnational Issues" . This activity was attended by more than 500 participants consisting of legal practitioners, academics, and also students. This event is held from 8.00 to 11.00 WIB online via the zoom application and also broadcast live via Youtube. This activity also invited Dr. H. Muhammad Syarifudin, SH, MH who is the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2020-2025 period, which is also the Key Note in this seminar.

This event was held with the aim of bringing together lecturers as well as law students to discuss real research and respond to several issues in the field of law. This seminar also accepts research according to the topic, which was collected until November 12, and will be presented at the next meeting which will also be held on November 19 starting at 13.00 WIB online via the zoom application.

The seminar was opened by the Chancellor of UPN Veterans Jakarta, Dr. Erna Hernawati, Ak, CPMA, CA. In his remarks, the Chancellor expressed his gratitude to the resource persons, the organizing team and also the participants who had contributed by participating in the submission of their research. “Deeply appreciated to all participating in this event, the guests, speakers, deputies of law and the team who have done an excellent job to consistently conduct an annual international seminar this year. I would like to also express my gratitude to all participants who have contributed this event through their paper submission to share the insdie of their research .”. The Chancellor also expressed his hope that the research that had been carried out would not only extend to this seminar. However, this can be continued in the future. "My expectation, for all the research that has been submitted is not to be stopped here in this conference or just a publication platform, but rather for it to be continued so that it can give actual benefits to society."

After the remarks by the Chancellor, the seminar was continued with a presentation by the key note in this seminar, namely Dr. H. Muhammad Syarifudin, SH, MH Before presenting the material, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court expressed his honor to be a key note speaker to the Law Faculty of UPN Veterans Jakarta who organized this seminar . "First of all I would like to express that im honored to receive an invitation from the faculty of law of the veteran national development university to give keynote speeches at this international conference”. In his presentation, Syarifudin conveyed several important points to be discussed such as the challenges of economic companies during the pandemic, which are important to discuss policies to improve market access, protect and secure national interests. Apart from that, other important points to be discussed were presented, namely, Challenges in Transnational Cybercrime, which are important to discuss regarding policies for prevention, investigative and prosecution techniques, as well as victim protection and rehabilitation management for offenders.

The following seminar activities were followed by presentations by several speakers who explained various related themes. The first exposure was by Norris HC Yang LL.,B.Sc.. who is ADR International Limited from Yang Chen & Jamison LPP, Hongkong Solicitors. Then continued by Dr. Aria Nakissa, JD., MA., Ph.D., from Washington University. Further exposure by Assoc.Prof. Dr. Hartini Saripan, who is the dean of the ITM University Faculty of Law. Then continued the presentation by Prof. Dr. Hikmahanto Juwana, SH, LL.M.Ph.D, who is the Chancellor of Ahmad Yani University and the last presentation was by Kamilah Kasim LL.B.,LL.M, who is a lawyer from Allen & Glodhill Lawfirm Singapore.
