HumasUPNVJ - The pandemic is not a barrier for UPN Veteran Jakarta students to continue carrying out their usual activities, let alone participating in productive activities so as to produce extraordinary achievements. This can be seen from the achievements achieved by Ramadhani Safira G, a UPNVJ Faculty of Medicine student class of 2018 who won 2nd place in the Vocal Atma Cordis Sports and Arts "SYSTOLIC" 2021 competition.
"SYSTOLIC" 2021 is a national level sports and arts competition held by the Atma Jaya Catholic University's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. This activity consists of various branches including band competitions, vocals, fan art, PUBG mobile, and mobile legends . All activities are carried out online.
The UPNVJ Public Relations Team had the opportunity to conduct an online interview with Syafira, who is familiarly called Fira. In his interview, he explained regarding "SYSTOLIC" 2021, "This activity consists of various branches of competition, and I took part in one of the branches, namely the vocal competition. The vocal competition consists of 2 rounds, namely the Elimination round and the Final round. In the preliminary round, participants were asked to send their live-singing video with a predetermined song choice ( If I Aint Got You / One Last Cry / Matahariku/ Heal the World). Fira chose my sun song - Agnes Monica. After that, the 5 participants who entered the final round were announced. In the final round, participants were asked to send back their live-singing video with free songs. I chose the song Because I Can - Agnes Monica. In the final round, live-judging was also carried out, so via zoom the video of the finalists was played and immediately assessed and given comments by the jury. At the end of the event, the 1st and 2nd place winners were announced. Both videos of the winners were played at the closing event of Atma systolic”. he said
Fira, who already has a hobby of singing, also shared that she had experienced difficulties in dividing her time for singing and studying, “Since entering college, she has had difficulty in terms of time to be able to take part in singing competitions. Now, because now it is Distance Learning (PJJ) and coincidentally there is an Atma Systolic activity where the competition is technically conducted online , so I am very interested in trying to take part in the singing competition again, especially since this activity is also being held by friends from the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences.” Fira explained
Even though it was carried out online , Fira prepared many things, such as Performance (appearances/costumes), Skills (mastery of techniques and emotions), Interpretation (musicality, improvisation, creativity) as well as preparation for the placement of cameras, mics and others for making videos.
Fira also shared that she experienced many things such as joy and sorrow in participating in this activity, “In this case, the joy is greater than the sorrow. Because this is the first singing competition after I entered FK, I am very happy to be able to take part in the singing competition again. And I'm also happy. When asked about my grief, I was also down while making the final video because I was really hectic about lectures, organizations and other things, while the deadline for submitting the final video was approaching. As a result, the first take on the video failed and I repeated it again on h-1 at 10 pm and then I immediately edited it because the deadline was before 12 noon the next day.” he said
One message that Fira wants to convey to her other colleagues is, “In our youth we must be able to maximize every potential and opportunity that exists, both academic and non-academic so that our lives are more colorful. For friends, let's try every opportunity that is in accordance with the potential we have, don't be afraid to try because if we never try it we will never know. Fira's message to her colleagues.
