Welcoming National Defense Day, UPNVJ Holds a Webinar on Strengthening Religious Moderation and State Defense from the Perspective of Religious Leaders

HumasUPNVJ - National Defense Day on December 19 which is commemorated by all Indonesian people so that they can remember the history of the nation's struggle in defending the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Remembering the sacrifices of the Kusuma Bangsa Heroes as well as strengthening our belief in the importance of unity and integrity, unyielding spirit, togetherness and mutual cooperation to defend and maintain the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

Defending the Country can be done through professional service in various fields of life. Besides that, Defending the Country is the determination, attitude and behavior as well as the actions of citizens, both individually and collectively in maintaining state sovereignty, territorial integrity and the safety of the nation and state which is imbued with love for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia in ensuring the survival nation and state from various threats. The existing threats have the potential to undermine the Sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia in all perspectives such as cultural, social, economic, political and even religious diversity.

Indonesia is a country with a diversity of ethnicities, tribes, cultures, languages and religions that are almost unrivaled in the world. Apart from the six religions most widely embraced by the people, there are hundreds or even thousands of tribes, regional languages and scripts, as well as local beliefs in Indonesia. With the fact that the Indonesian people are diverse, one can imagine how diverse the opinions, views, beliefs and interests of each member of the nation, including in religion. Luckily we have one unified language, Indonesian, so that the various diversity of beliefs can still be communicated, and therefore residents can understand one another. Even so, friction due to mismanaging diversity does not fail to occur sometimes. From a religious point of view, diversity is a gift and will of God; if God wills, it is certainly not difficult to make His servants uniform and one type. But God really wants mankind to be diverse, ethnic, and national, with the aim that life becomes dynamic, learns from one another, and knows one another. In line with this, UPN Veteran Jakarta as the State Defense Campus through the University Compulsory Subject Center (MKWU), LP3M is holding a Webinar in commemoration of National Defense Day online with the theme "Strengthening Religious Moderation and State Defense".
