HumasUPNVJ - Friday, 11 February 2022 In the context of opening the 2021/2022 Even Semester Lectures, the UPN Veteran Jakarta Master of Law (UPNVJ) held a public lecture with the theme Development, Investment and Development of Business Law in the Digitalization Era.
This public lecture was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, UPN Veterans Jakarta, Dr. Abdul Halim, M.Ag. Present as Resource Person: Prof. Dr. H. Endang Sutrisno, SH, MHum (Professor of the Faculty of Law, Gunung Jati Swadaya University, Cirebon). Dr. Iskandar Simorangkir, SE, MA (Deputy I of the Republic of Indonesia Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs). Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, MHum (Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of North Sumatra).
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Law UPN Veterans Jakarta said that it had become a tradition at the Faculty of Law UPNVJ before the lectures started, public lectures were held as they are currently being held. Hopefully this public lecture can be utilized as much as possible by students, especially law master students. The speakers presented are very competent in their fields so they can provide comprehensive knowledge and understanding regarding Development, Investment and Development of Business Law in the Digitalization Era.
Dr. Iskandar Simorangkir, SE, MA who is also Deputy I of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia was present as a speaker, in his material related to the Government's Role in Development and Investment and Regulations, that Indonesia's economic growth is projected at 5.2% in 2022. Overlapping regulations is an obstacle to investment in Indonesia . To increase investment, Indonesia's competitiveness still needs to be improved. One of the policy responses to increasing investment is the Job Creation Law supporting structural reforms to encourage investment and job creation.
Other speakers in public lectures namely Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, MHum (Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of North Sumatra) in his presentation, every country generally experiences a savings gap , the amount of funds required to finance development is greater than the availability of funds to pursue planned economic growth. Investment/investment (PMA and PMDN) is one of the financing alternatives that is widely used by countries. Competition to obtain foreign capital is increasingly competitive among countries. Structural adjustments , bureaucratic reform, simplification of regulations, arrangement of infrastructure are the choices that many countries make to attract investors. Regulatory arrangements are needed to support economic development, investment and business activities.
Another speaker, Prof. Dr. H. Endang Sutrisno, SH, MHum (Professor of the Faculty of Law, Gunung Jati Swadaya University, Cirebon) delivered material on the continuum of legal functions and social change.
The presence of the Job Creation Law supports structural reforms to encourage investment and job creation in the digitalization era. The role of law must be properly managed so that it does not overlap or overlap so that development, the investment climate and business activities can grow better, especially in the current Covid 19 pandemic situation.
Head of the UPN Veteran Jakarta Master of Law Study Program Dr. Beniharmoni Harefa, SH, LLM who is also the chairman of the Public Lecture, said that the topic of development, investment and development of business law in this digitalization era was chosen to respond to legal issues that are developing in society in the current era of disruption. In addition, the Master of Laws also has 4 concentrations namely Criminal Law, Business, Health and State. The theme of this public lecture is to concentrate on majoring in business law.
In addition, as a state university, Master of Law UPN Veteran Jakarta will continue to be a forum for studying legal issues that occur in society. The national public lecture/webinar event was closed at 16.30 WIB and was attended by participants consisting of lecturers, UPN Veterans Jakarta law master's students as well as various groups, practitioners, observers and law enforcers.
