The Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jakarta University (UPNVJ) has opened four new Master programs that will start accepting new students in the 2022/2023 Academic Year, namely Master of Accounting, Master of Communication Studies, Master of Political Science, and Master of International Relations.
"The existence of Master programs at UPNVJ is one of our efforts to produce superior human resources for industry and research," said Rector of UPNVJ Prof. Dr. Erna Hernawati Ak, CPMA CA, CGOP in Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/6/2022).
The Rector further said that the curriculum in each Master program at UPNVJ is structured according to the needs of the industry and research world, as well as UPNVJ's identity as a State Defense Campus. The establishment of the four new Master programs, following the existing Master of Law and Master of Management, is UPNVJ's effort to provide the best service to the community.
“UPNVJ as a state university with the status of a Public Service Agency (BLU) is committed to providing the best service to the community. In accordance with one of the pillars of higher education, UPNVJ devotes itself to providing quality educational services to the community," she said.
Separately, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UPNVJ, Dr. Dianwicaksih Arieftiara, SE., AK said the Master of Accounting Program was established to answer the needs of the business world for qualified accountants.
"The Master of Accounting Study Program is designed for bachelors and Diploma-IV graduates, as well as practitioners of accounting and other fields of science to become professional accountants in the digital era," he said.
The lecture curriculum of the Master of Accounting is structured to improve accounting skills with advanced knowledge in the fields of financial accounting, auditing, taxation, public sector accounting, and sharia accounting with the application of information technology so that it will increase the competence of professional accountants who are able to transform in the digital era.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Dr. R Dudy Heryadi, said that the curriculum for Master of Communication Studies, Master of Political Science, and Master of International Relations was prepared on a digital basis.
"God willing, for the new academic year 2022/2023, we have opened new Master programs which will start in September 2022," he said.
Head of the Master of Communication Studies, Munadhil Abdul Muqsith, Ph.D said the Master of Communication Studies opens three concentration courses, namely Communication of Digital Media-Based Sustainable Development, Corporate Digital Communication, and Digital Marketing Communication.
"We are targeting at least 20 students. The lecturers have the quality of graduates from well-known universities from within and outside the country and have expertise in the field of digital research. We also invited professional experts and practitioners to participate in teaching and improving lecture activities," said Munadhil.
Head of the Political Science Master Program UPNVJ, Dr. Ardli Johan Kusuma, M.H.I said the Master of Political Science was established to promote progressive political education and follow the development of political dynamics. Moreover, the Democracy Index in Indonesia in 2020 decreased and became the lowest in the last 14 years.
"Graduates of the Political Science Masters Program are expected to be able to answer political challenges in the real world, such as becoming bureaucrats, political entrepreneurs, NGO drivers, and government employees who are equipped with practical knowledge and knowledge in civic politics and digital politics," he said.
