UPNVJ - Ministry of Defense Coordination of State Defense Studies

UPNVJ PR - All leaders of the Jakarta Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" University (UPNVJ) visited the Ministry of Defense to coordinate the study of cultivating State Defense values ​​that will be carried out by the UPNVJ State Defense Study Center.

"Defending the country has become a joint task. However, UPN Veterans Jakarta as a State Defense Campus has more experience in implementing State Defense for students," said Rector of UPNVJ Prof Dr. Erna Hernawati, Ak, CPMA, CGOP at the Ministry of Defense, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta, on Monday (6/6/2022).

The Rector said that UPNVJ has been looking for the most appropriate format to instill the values ​​of State Defense in students, one of which is by establishing a Center for the Study of State Defense. The Independent Campus, Freedom to Learn (MBKM) policy of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, which gives students the freedom to take 20 credits outside their home university, is also an opportunity to instill the values ​​of State Defense.

The Director of State Defense, Directorate General of National Defense Potential at the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Rubel Levianto said that instilling the values ​​of State Defense to the younger generation has an important meaning, not only through education but also through community organizations.

"The values ​​of State Defense are under the juridiction of the Ministry of Defense. However, the State Defense education curriculum at every level of education is under the juridiction of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology," said Rubel.

During the visit, the Rector of UPNVJ was accompanied by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Anter Venus, MA.Comm, Vice Rector for General Affairs and Finance Dr. Prasetyo Hadi, SE., MM., CFMP, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Dr. dr. Ria Maria Theresa, Sp.KJ, MH, Head of Regional Higher Education Service Institution (LLDikti) III Dr. Paristiyanti Nuwardani, MP, and the UPNVJ Center for State Defense Studies team led by Dr. Ridwan, S.Sos, M.Sc.

Head of LLDikti Region III Paristiyanti said that the State Defense values has been included in the curriculum at universities and welcomes further studies on State Defense and proposes to hold a focus group discussion (FGD).
