HumasUPNVJ - In essence, as we know, Qurban for Muslims is an expression of gratitude to Allah for the abundance of sustenance by sharing valuable food with those who can't afford it, in line with this, seen from year to year, UPN Veteran Jakarta who are members of the the sacrificial committee of the Manbaul' Ulum Mosque, routinely organizes slaughter of sacrificial animals in the campus environment. This year the total number of sacrificial animals was 11 consisting of 3 cows, 5 sheep and 3 goats with a total of 29 people who were sacrificed at the UPNVJ Pondok Labu campus. (11/7)

Different from the previous year, according to the chief executive of the UPNVJ slaughterhouse, Anwar Fathoni, who was found at the slaughtering site, explained to the Public Relations team that this year the implementation of the slaughtering of the sacrificial animal was scheduled to be faster than the previous year, "The difference is that this year's implementation of the slaughtering of the sacrificial animal is scheduled to be faster, thank God many improvements from previous years, this year thank God we have started slaughtering the sacrificial animals at seven in the morning so that the process of slaughtering the sacrificial animals is faster. In addition, for this year the slaughter of sacrificial animals was carried out on weekdays due to many clashing schedules for becoming a sacrificial committee in the residence of each committee. there are more sacrificial committees (except for leaders who are carrying out out-of-town services),” explained Anwar Fathoni

A total of 46 sacrificial committees, consisting of 15 students and lecturers as well as educational staff, all UPNVJ academics fully support the implementation of the slaughter of sacrificial animals this year.

Anwar Fathoni also explained that the meaning of slaughtering sacrificial animals is not only to share but as a symbol of "slaughtering the bad" that exists in humans, "Eid al-Adha itself is a momentum where we must be sincere, how are we to sacrifice what is it has become our fortune, when we are able to slaughter our bad qualities as human beings, it means we are able to get closer to Allah SWT, so not only sharing but also being able to slaughter our personal vices so that we can always be close to Allah SWT " , added Anwar

This year, UPNVJ distributed 63 bags of mutton and 342 bags of beef.
