Five Candidates for UPNVJ Chancellor Describe Vision and Mission

HumasUPNVJ - The Senate of the Jakarta Veterans National Development University (UPNVJ) has finished conveying the vision and mission of the Prospective Chancellor in the Open Senate Session which was held, on Wednesday (31/8/2022).

"The event is in accordance with our expectations, everything is running democratically and according to the rules of the Ministry of Education and Culture and UPNVJ, the next stage the top three candidates will be chosen," said UPNVJ Senate Chair Prof. Dr. Bambang Waluyo, SH, MH after listening to the explanation of the five prospective candidates UPNVJ Chancellor which was held at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium, UPNVJ Pondok Labu Campus, Jakarta, Wednesday (31/8/2022).

The UPNVJ Senate Session selected five candidates for chancellor, which would later be screened into three candidates for chancellor. Five prospective rectors who have presented their vision and mission, namely Dr. Anter Venus, MAComm; Dr. R Dudy Heryadi, MSi; Prof. Dr. drg. Wahyu Sulistiadi, MARS; Dr. H. Abdul Halim, MAg; and Dr. dr. Taufiq Fedrik Pasiak, MKes, MPdI.

Meanwhile, Chairperson of the UPNVJ Chancellor Selection Committee Satria Yudhia Wijaya, SE, MSAk said the committee had selected five potential chancellor candidates during the registration period which had been extended twice. The registration period was extended twice because during the registration period only three prospective candidates registered.

“During the first registration extension period, three people registered but failed to fulfill the administrative requirements. Under the direction of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, registration was extended again. In the second extension of registration, the election committee succeeded in selecting two more potential candidates, "explained Satria.

Satria said the stages of selecting a chancellor were screening, screening, and selecting. Currently, the election of the chancellor has reached the screening stage which will determine three candidates for chancellor.

Next, the selection committee will send the files of the three chancellor candidates to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology for analysis. The analysis from the Ministry is expected to last for one month, after which a chancellor election will be held.

"In the election of the chancellor, there are two votes, namely the vote of the senate and the vote of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. The senate vote is 65 percent and the Ministry's vote is 35 percent," he said.
