Dr. Anter Venus, MA.Comm Officially Becomes Chancellor of UPNVJ

HumasUPNVJ – Dr. Anter Venus, MA.Comm officially became the Chancellor of the Jakarta "Veteran" National Development University (UPNVJ) after being appointed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim at Graha Utama, Ki Hadjar Dewantara Building Floor 3, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Jakarta, Thursday (27/10/2022).

Dr. Anter Venus, MA.Comm was appointed along with four state university rectors and four state polytechnic directors, namely Semarang State University, Yogyakarta "Veteran" National Development University, East Java "Veteran" National Development University, Mulawarman University, Bandung State Polytechnic, Subang State Polytechnic , Cilacap State Polytechnic, and Ujung Pandang State Polytechnic. In addition, Minister Nadiem also appointed a number of officials within the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.

In his remarks, Minister Nadiem reminded that there had been 22 policy episodes launched and many major transformations had been carried out during the three years of the Free Learning Movement.

"At the tertiary level, the Freedom to Learn Campus Merdeka policy has changed the way students study. From being confined indoors and listening to lecture material, it becomes an adventure in the real world with challenges to think critically and creatively solve problems," he said.

To date, there are 123 thousand students from 2,600 tertiary institutions who have gained experience off campus and 2,700 industrial partners who have participated in the Merdeka Learning Merdeka Campus program.

"In the future, we must further strengthen this collaboration that is already going well," he said.

To the rectors and directors appointed, Minister Nadiem hopes that they can further encourage transformation on their respective campuses and remove barriers that limit collaboration between students and lecturers.

“So that we get greater opportunities to innovate. The Freedom to Learn Transformation that we have been trying for the last three years has changed the learning process," said Minister Nadiem

Minister Nadiem said the implementation of the national assessment and independent curriculum had provided flexibility for teachers and students to explore ways of learning that were more relevant and much more enjoyable.

Minister Nadiem also thanked former Chancellor Dr. Erna Hernawati, Ak. CPMA, CA and a number of former chancellors and other directors who have carried out their duties with full responsibility and dedication. Minister Nadiem hopes that the former rectors and directors can become the driving force for Freedom of Learning.

"For all the officials who were sworn in today, let's unite our steps together, move simultaneously to realize Freedom of Learning," he said.
