HumasUPNVJ – The UPN “Veteran” Jakarta extended family has routinely commemorated the Isra' Mi'raj. On this occasion, the commemoration of the Isra' Mi'raj 1444 H which falls on Saturday (18/02) was carried out online by presenting the Professor of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Dr. H. Armai Arief, M.Ag.

This commemoration is not just a routine but also a moment for self-reflection on belief in Allah SWT and the Prophet Muhammad SAW. If we read the literature relating to the Isra Mi'raj, the main point to pay attention to is the question of the test of faith.

The theme that is carried out certainly cannot be separated from the connection between the Isra' Mi'raj event and life in the world of work, namely “Isra' Mi'raj as a moment to increase faith and work ethic”. The resource person had the opportunity to discuss how the entity's work ethic value in leadership is related to the Isra' Mi'raj event.

Quoting from the material presented by Prof. Armai, there are at least five entities of work ethic values in a leadership. The first is moral integrity. As reflected in the verse which describes the event of Isra' Mi'raj which begins with tasbih, also the event of cleaning the Prophet's chest with Zamzam water plus ablution. In a leadership, this event illustrates that the first thing that must be done is to maintain moral integrity.

Furthermore, we are encouraged to learn from history, both about values related to the past or in the form of experiences from other people who have carried out leadership so that historical continuity can be maintained and developed. In this way, a leader is expected to be able to maintain good old values and take new values that are even better.

The third entity is the welfare value. Prosperity is expected to be inseparable from a leader who can walk properly and is not easily tempted by temptation, as was the example of the Prophet when he made his Mi'raj. Such leadership is only possible if all officials are upright in carrying out justice based on the values of equality before the law.

Then Prof. Armai discusses Policy. The policy of a leader should be grounded in the hearts and needs of the people he leads. In the event of Isra' Mi'raj this is in accordance with the Prophet's example in which he was willing to return to earth after meeting Allah SWT with the intention of saving the fate of his people.

The last entity described is establishing prayer. The message of this apostle is basically a symbolism that teaches the principle of leadership, namely the pattern of the relationship between humans and their God and between humans and each other.

Through the Isra' Mi'raj commemoration, the Chancellor of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta hopes that the lectures given by the speakers can inspire and motivate us to always improve ourselves. Not only that, Venus hopes that the Isra' Mi'raj event will make our faith even thicker and stronger.

"We hope that from this tausiyah our faith will continue to grow and strengthen. If our faith is strengthened ladies and gentlemen, we also believe that as Allah SWT says; The purpose of human creation is worship. If it is worship, then all our activities are worship, then our work also becomes worship. If it becomes worship, I believe our fighting power, our perseverance, our tenacity will continue to grow and that will become the most important capital for us for the university to transform for the better." Venus said in opening the event.
