Humas UPNVJ - Together with foreign students who are undergoing study programs and internship programs at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ), on March 3, 2023 a visit was made to the Bandung Mayor's Office to carry out a Courtesy Call with cooperation and tourism parties in the city of Bandung. This visit is a follow-up event after yesterday UPNVJ brought six Ablai Khan University students and two Walailak University students to Padjadjaran University and Pasundan University to carry out cultural exchange dialogues.

Basically this visit also aims to be an educational venue for the culture and diversity of the local city to foreign students. The Government of the City of Bandung shares information starting from the geographical conditions of the City of Bandung to its culinary culture which has also become an attraction for both domestic and foreign tourists.

Not to forget, it was also explained about the optimization of the local regional economic sector through tourist visits and the creative economy. The city of Bandung has a policy of reducing waste through minimizing the use of waste and the utilization and reprocessing of residual production waste. This program certainly helps improve the economy of the local community.

UMKM Bandung has a goal of supporting the economy and has become an effort to recover the economy after the Covid-19 outbreak. In managing city development, Bandung upholds the use of a smart city system that carries the theme of smart living for its citizens.

This visit resulted in information that through the sister city program, the City of Bandung had a lot of collaboration with cities in several other countries such as Japan, China, the United States, the Philippines, Germany, Belgium, Australia, and others.

As information for the exchange students, the Bandung City tourism party who was present there gave several recommendations for the most popular natural tourist spots in the City of Bandung. According to him, the most popular tourist destinations are the Ujung Berung and Pasir Kunci areas. Currently, several of these tourist attractions and other places in Bandung are being focused on being developed, especially in the field of Sundanese art and dance.

Apart from these two places, there are also cultural heritage buildings such as the Gedung Sate and building complexes in the Braga area which are frequently visited by foreign tourists. The Mayor of Bandung hopes that exchange students will also have the opportunity to visit these places.

There are also several tourist parks and production centers for UMKM in the city of Bandung which are still the main attraction for visiting tourists. Some of these places include Literacy Village, Thumb Park, Saung Angklung, and so on. The Mayor of Bandung hopes that after the supporting facilitation at these places is maximized, it can attract more visitors from within and outside the country.

The Mayor of Bandung said that if UPNVJ wanted to conduct a review of Bandung culture or introduce Bandung culture to exchange students, it would be more efficient while visiting tourist attractions that had been discussed and taking part in activities such as workshops and others.
