Improving Knowledge Quality, UPNVJ Library Wins Accreditation A from National Library of Indonesia

Public Relations UPNVJ – The UPN "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) Library today celebrates an extraordinary achievement because it officially received A accreditation from the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia (Perpusnas RI). This achievement confirms UPNVJ's strong commitment to providing high quality knowledge resources to students and the entire UPNVJ academic community and the wider community. This achievement is also a form of implementation of UPNVJ's commitment to increasing research and innovation in various disciplines.

The official announcement regarding this accreditation was made by the Chancellor of UPNVJ, Dr. Anther Venus, MA., Comm. Venus received an accreditation certificate from the National Library of Indonesia and then handed it over to the Head of the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the UPNVJ Library, Fajar Nugroho, MP.

"The UPNVJ Library has passed a rigorous evaluation and has been proven to meet the standards set by the Indonesian National Library. UPNVJ will continue to strive to enrich the collection of library materials, improve services, so as to increase the level of literacy in the UPNVJ environment and its surroundings." Venus said while visiting the UPNVJ Library (30/08).

With this A accreditation, the UPNVJ Library provides proper recognition for the library team's hard efforts in maintaining and improving the quality of services, as well as providing a positive impact on the university's overall reputation.

The UPNVJ library team has been preparing for accreditation since the end of 2022. The Head of the UPT Library said that the preparation process took approximately half a year. During this time the team studied the entire high library accreditation instrument and completed documents that support the accreditation process and carried out various other preparations. Until finally in April 2023, the assessment for accreditation was held by National Library of Indonesia.

"The UPNVJ Library has been preparing for this accreditation since the end of 2022. At that time we studied the entire university library accreditation instrument. Then we make preparations, complete the accreditation documents. "Thank God, this accreditation was carried out in April which was held by the National Library with the presence of three assessors appointed by the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia." Fajar explained in an interview with the UPNVJ Public Relations Team.

The UPNVJ library is known to have collaborated with other university libraries such as the UPI, UNPAD, and Telkom libraries. This collaboration has greatly assisted the UPNVJ Library during its preparation period. Fajar said that his team conducted a comparative study to study accreditation preparation based on the experience of each university.

The accreditation achieved also reflects how the UPNVJ library has adapted to technology and delivered relevant digital services, in addition to its strong physical book collection. With this support, UPNVJ students and other academics as well as the wider community have access to global resources and opportunities to develop digital literacy.

It doesn't stop here, the UPNVJ Library will continue to make improvements in various ways. Specifically to the entire UPNVJ academic community and in general to the wider community, Fajar said that the UPNVJ Library will continue to develop both human resources, collections and services from analog to digital as well as in terms of technology.
