Prof. Don-Eliseo Lucero-Prisno III and Dr. Iman Rusmana Encourages UPNVJ Lecturers to Increase International Indexed Journals

HumasUPNVJ - The global higher education landscape has undergone transformative changes over the last few decades, driven by rapid technological advances, increasing internationalization and changing societal expectations. As a result, universities around the world are forced to adapt and innovate to meet the demands of a knowledge-based economy and address complex global challenges. In this dynamic context, university rankings have emerged as influential benchmarks that guide students, academics, policy makers, and institutional leaders in making informed decisions.

QS World University Rankings , created by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), has gained wide acclaim as a comprehensive and widely consulted ranking system. Its role as a source of information and evaluation has grown significantly, thereby shaping perceptions of the quality, reputation and performance of institutions. These rankings play an important role in influencing student choices regarding study objectives, faculty recruitment, research collaborations, and institutional partnerships.

The QS World University Rankings have played an important role in increasing the visibility of universities. Therefore, it is important for our University to improve its QS ranking. A comprehensive understanding of the factors that contribute to a higher QS rating is essential for UPNVJ to execute the strategy. In line with this, LPPM UPNVJ in the series of activities for the 2023 Research and Community Service Week on the second day (22/8) held a workshop that discussed Journal Management towards International Indexed Journals and Contribution to International Rankings which was held in a hybrid manner ( zoom and face to face). face at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium UPNVJ) by inviting Prof. Don-Eliseo Lucero-Prisno III and Dr. Iman Rusmana, M.Sc as a speaker with the aim of understanding the factors that influence QS rankings and studying strategies for how to increase University QS rankings and to understand how to be indexed on Scopus.

Also present online was UPNVJ Chancellor, Anter Venus. He said that the activities carried out by LPPM UPNVJ were always useful and produced many outputs that could advance the campus.

The Head of LPPM UPNVJ, Sri Ayu Lestari also said that this activity was a way for UPNVJ to be able to make more works in international indexed Journal writing and to be able to learn directly from the experts.

This workshop was attended by hundreds of participants including lecturers, students and UPNVJ education staff.
