Public RelationsUPNVJ - National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta attended a workshop on tips for entering state universities at SMAN 2 Lintongnihuta in Humbang Hasundutan Regency, North Sumatra on Tuesday, September 19 2023.
The seminar, which also discussed public speaking, was opened by the Deputy Regent of Humbang Hasundutan, Dr Oloan Paniaran Nababan, SH, MH
Three resource persons from UPN Veteran Jakarta attended the workshop. They are the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Dr. S Bekti Istiyanto, Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation Musa Maliki, Ph.D, and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Fitria Ayuningtyas.
In his speech, Dr. Nababan said that education is one of the most important elements in a person's life, especially regarding his future. In an era of increasingly advanced technology, continued Dr Nababan, a person is encouraged to continue to follow developments in order to survive. To be part of the progress of that era, everyone needs to prepare themselves to be the best.
"I am confident and believe that you and your brothers and sisters will be the future of this nation, especially for Humbang Hasundutan Regency," said Dr Nababan.
"For that reason, let's follow along and gain more knowledge through the resource persons who attended this workshop," he continued.
Dr Nababan expressed his gratitude to UPNVJ for being willing to attend the workshop which was attended by 135 students. Meanwhile, the Head of SMAN 2 Lintongnihuta, Sahala Sinaga, expressed his thanks to Dr. Nababan who paid great attention to the field of education.
Public Speaking and UTBK Preparation
Last year, 46 of the 61 Class 9 students of SMAN 2 Lintongnihuta managed to enter PTN which also includes the Official School. As many as 95 percent of them entered PTNs on the island of Java.
For Class 8 in 2021, 60 out of 68 students successfully entered PTN and Official Schools. Meanwhile, Batch 7 one year earlier, 56 out of 68 students managed to enter PTN and Official Schools.
Regarding workshop material, Dr. Fitria Ayuningtyas conveyed everything about Public Speaking for Teenagers. Meanwhile, Musa Maliki, Ph.D. delivered material on Tips for Entering State Universities (PTN) for Teenagers.
Dr. Fitria Ayuningtyas explained that good communication skills are the main prerequisite that all students must have. Meanwhile, Musa Maliki, Ph.D. encourage students to prepare themselves well from an early age, as well as search more for the latest information and consistently maintain enthusiasm.
At the end of the event, Dr Nababan together with the Head of SMAN 2 Lintongnihuta gave souvenirs in the form of ulos cloth to the speakers. It is hoped that this workshop at SMAN 2 Lintongnihuta will be useful for all students, including those in Class XII Batch 10 ahead of the Computer Based Written Examination (UTBK) next year.
