IEVP 2024: UPNVJ Lecturers Witness the Voting of PSBL Harapan Sentosa Residents

 

Public Relations UPNVJ – On February 14, Indonesian people who were registered as permanent voters simultaneously held elections for President and Vice President. This year's General Election is also a moment to elect members of the Indonesian DPR, Provincial DPRD, Regency/City DPRD, and members of the Indonesian DPD.

The General Election is intended for all Indonesian citizens without exception as long as they are registered as permanent voters. Even the DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) gave thousands of people with mental disorders (ODGJ) and people with mental problems (ODMK) the opportunity to vote in the 2024 Election accompanied by the KPU.

UPN "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ), which was involved in Indonesia's Electoral Visit Program (IEVP) activities organized by the Indonesian KPU, had the opportunity to attend and accompany the voting by residents of the Bima Laras Social Institution (PSBL) Harapan Sentosa 3, Grogol, Petamburan , West Jakarta (14/02).

Danis Tri Saputra W., MIP as a lecturer in the UPNVJ Political Science study program who represented UPNVJ in this activity reported that the voting went in an orderly manner without any commotion.

“Yes, it went smoothly, thank God. "I'm in a home for mental patients." Danis said to UPNVJ Public Relations when interviewed about his visit.

PSBL Harapan Sentosa 3 inmates are known to be a group of inmates in the category of recovering or not being restless. This situation is considered easier for the inmates to work together to make voting orderly, safe and smooth.

In the orphanage area there are three TPS, namely 020, 021, and 022 which accommodate 214 residents assisted by the orphanage and the general public. (sf)
