UPNVJ Instills National Defense Awareness Through Education on the Dangers of Drugs

HumasUPNVJ - Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) held a seminar entitled "National Defense Awareness Through Drug Prevention" as part of a series of activities for the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) in 2024.

Taking place at Tennis Indoor Senayan on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, this seminar presented resource person Dr. Erniawati Lestari, Sp.FK, Associate Health Administrator at the Center for Laboratory and Rehabilitation of Alcohol Victims (PLRKM).

Dr. Erniawati Lestari, who is also a clinical pharmacology expert from the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN), explained various aspects related to the dangers of drugs, including the prevalence of abuse, the physiology and pharmacology of addiction, types and classifications of narcotics, and their impacts among teenagers.

He also emphasized the importance of rehabilitation for drug addicts and explained the rehabilitation process and the BNN Mandatory Reporting Recipient Institution (IPWL).

As a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Indonesian Health Institute and the administrator of the Indonesian Clinical Pharmacology Association, Dr. Erniawati shared comprehensive insights on the dangers of drugs to new UPNVJ students. This seminar aims to increase students' awareness and understanding of the dangers of drug abuse from the beginning of their studies.

"Humans are perfect creatures, let's use them for better things," he said.

This activity is part of UPNVJ's efforts to support the government's program to combat drug abuse among the younger generation, especially students.

Through the presentation of experienced speakers such as Dr. Erniawati Lestari, it is hoped that new UPNVJ students can obtain accurate and reliable information about the dangers of drugs.
