Student Contribution in Digital Innovation at UPNVJ Helps Fulfill ICT UPA for Personal Programmer

HumasUPNVJ – Muhammad Alfaiz Surya, an alumnus of the Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) successfully graduated from UPN “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) thanks to the mobile application project he developed. The man who is familiarly called Faiz presents an innovation that promises service efficiency through the mobile application he developed. This final project offers a modern solution for the registration and queue monitoring system at ULT UPNVJ.

Application development at UPNVJ has been the main focus of the Information and Communication Technology Academic Support Unit (UPA TIK) to date. In this effort, the involvement of students from the Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) is an important part of the development strategy.

According to the Head of UPA ICT, Asep Saeful Ridwan, S.Kom., who was present at the socialization event for the mobile application development project (12/12), what Faiz did not only provided direct experience for Faiz as a developer, but also helped fulfill UPA ICT's need for skilled personal programmers to support the development of information and communication technology in the campus environment.

Asep admitted that UPA ICT is currently developing a core app. This application is designed as a solid foundation and will be distributed to students to be further developed. With this approach, UPA ICT provides space for innovation for students while ensuring that application development is in accordance with the policies and strategic directions determined by UPA ICT.

"We want students to have the freedom to be creative, but still within the established policy corridor. That way, the results of their development are not only technically useful but also in line with the vision of UPA ICT," said Asep Saeful Ridwan, S.Kom.

In addition to ensuring that the application can be used, Asep also emphasized the importance of attention to the maintenance aspect of the application in the future. "The application that is developed must not only function well, but also needs to be designed to be easy to maintain in the future. That way, the sustainability of the application can be guaranteed and support the needs of the campus in a sustainable manner," he added.

The mobile application created by Faiz is known to be submitted to ICT to then be installed and officially launched. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that students will not only gain practical experience, but also a deep understanding of the importance of planning and maintenance in the application development life cycle. Thus, UPNVJ not only advances its technology, but also builds an innovative and future-oriented learning ecosystem.
